  • A: Actually, having just recently purchased the Victrola Brighton record playe, the cover CAN be closed while an LP is being played. That's why there are cut-outs on three sides of the clear dust cover.

Q: I purchased the unit today and two records to go along with it. The records hang in the dust cover when open. Since they touch the dust cover it must be removed to play them. Is this normal?

    Girl put those records on

    Initially was looking for an upgrade to a nicer Record player that won't be as likely to scratch up my older vinyls. This one went on sale and I snagged it up hastily. It was extremely easy to set up, I would guess that even if you haven't had experiance with a record player before its very intuitive (I gifted the same model to my younger brother earlier this year and he set it up easily). Very straight forward controls. You'll need to buy extra needles as it only comes with the one already installed. Overall the quality of sound is grea and I love the design. Makes for a great gift and is a little more on the affordable side while still being nice.

    The plastic cover (which doesn't come off) in the back touches the album so the album doesn't play properly. Also the plastic holding the arm broke right away.

    Sound quality is very grainy and had a high pitched squeaking tone as soons as it plays. And to top it off the stylus snapped on my third time using. DO NOT BUY THIS RECORD PLAYER

    It's an expensive item for not very good sound. I got it for 80 but having it at originally 100 is such a scam.

    Too fast for 33 1/2 records

    Good for anything but 33 1/2. This plays too fast and the troubleshooting is incorrect to change the speed.. fine for faster records.
