Don't buy if you actually want to protect your floor
In an extremely annoying ironic twist, this floor mat ruined my floor. The laminate coating on my vinyl floor was rubbed off where the edges of the mat were. I am not sure if it was friction or some weird chemical reaction (the mat does smell absolutely awful). All I know is I wasted way too much money on a mat that is now going in the garbage and even more money on whatever will be taken out of my security deposit despite my best efforts to protect the floor.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback on the Floortex PVC Chair Mat. We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the mat you have purchased. Due to the laminate coating on your flooring being rubbed off where the edges of the mat were, the damage would have been caused by on-going friction between the mat and flooring. We can confirm that PVC chair mats will not react with laminate flooring and the damage was caused as a result of ongoing friction. PVC as a material does have a slight odor, however the smell of this material is minimal and will usually wear off within a short period of time. Do not buy, had it for months and it won’t straighten out . Waste of money

Hello, Thank you for your feedback on the Floortex PVC Chair Mat. We are sorry to hear that your PVC Chair Mat does not lay flat after having it for months. PVC is naturally a flimsy material that can take up to 72 hours to unroll. In order to unroll your PVC chair mat, we would recommend placing heavy objects (i.e., books or boxes) on the areas that appear lumpy.
