Favorite Cheese
Absolutely LOVE this product! I've cut dairy out my diet for health reasons and this product doesn't have that wierd "non dairy" taste like others do and melts just like real cheese.. I use this for everything!

Vile. Never buying this "new recipe" again
Literally first introduction to vegan cheese, and was absolutely disgusted. I read that violife mozzarella was as good as a vegan cheese could get hence why I wanted to try it. Absolutely vile. I now realize that the recipe has now changed recently. Guess I'm not trying this again until they reformulate back to what it was before. Waste of money.

Very disappointed that lentil protein was added. This was the only cheese my son could eat due to his multiple food allergies but not anymore. Please change back to previous ingredients! Thank you.

Awful new recipe
Used to be my favorite cheese product and would buy it religiously. Had an allergic reaction recently and just realized the front of the package said "NEW AND IMPROVED formula" which now includes lentils. I thought I was going crazy thinking the recent packs I had gotten were A.) giving me a reaction, and B.) tasted super weird. The new formula not only contains an allergen, but it's honest to god really gross. The texture is giga waxy now, it doesn't melt correctly either, it basically separates wax and oil, the taste is.. nonexistent? I don't know how to describe it. It's like a black hole for flavor and a detriment for texture. I would have recommended this product 6 months ago. Now I wouldn't give it to someone who was starving on the street.

This is my "for-life" cheese!
I will buy this particular format of cheese (shredded) FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE! I am on keto and am lactose intolerant, so I make PIZZA all the time with this. It actually tastes BETTER than "regular" shredded mozzarella cheese. So, even as a staunch anti-vegetarian, I prefer this product even without my dietary restrictions.

Please bring back the old shreds!!
I will echo what many others have already said: The new shreds are terrible (mozzarella and cheddar were the two I used to buy regularly). They have a different texture, strange smell, and funny after taste. It's really disappointing, as these used to be our go-to for pasta dishes, pizza, tacos, burritos, etc. I will no longer be purchasing these. The old recipe was fabulous. Please bring it back!

Please change the ingredients back. This is the only cheese I was able to buy due to my allergies and now that lentil protein has been added to the recipe I am not longer able to buy any cheese products. You guys had a corner on the cheese market for so many people! Why cut out a group of people from your market base when the product was already perfect?

My heart just broke. These used to be our go to for my dairy and legume allergic toddler. I just picked up a new bag and am glad I glanced before opening. Lentil protein added now. JUST WHY….😭 legume proteins added to everything dairy-free these days and this was the one flavor we had that was safe. No more. I wish they would have left it alone.

Why was the recipe changed? Dearest VioLife, I live with your Mozzarella cheese! It was delicious until a few months ago when you changed the recipe! Why? The old recipe was so good especially for pizza and lasagna. Now it tastes like cardboard and when it melts smells funny and tastes unpleasantly. Please be so kind and bring back the old recipe! When I first found Violife, I was overjoyed by the possibilities that it finally brought back to my allergen-free kitchen! At the time, every other dairy-free cheese that I found contained pea or lentil protein, which I have severe allergies to. For years, this product has allowed me to experience so many of the foods and recipes that I've missed for so long! It goes without saying that I was absolutely devastated when I went to purchase more mozzarella today, only to find that the recipe has changed and now contains one of the allergens I need to avoid. It feels silly to say that I'm so sad over some dairy-free cheese, but the semblance of normalcy that I had grown so accustomed to was taken away from me with this recipe change, and it's a really horrible feeling to have to once again give up so many of the foods and recipes that I had been so excited to bring back to my diet. Please, please consider returning to the lentil-free ingredient list that so many of us loved (and depended upon!).

I love the Mozzarella shed and this plant based cheese is so delicious. It's smooth and tasty. I love it a lot. The package is beautiful and I hope they are available in more stores and decrease prices. I use it on top of salad, pasta, and bread. It's so so good!!!

Very unfortunate that they chose to mess with a great product by adding lentil protein. We will no longer be purchasing since we have a lentil allergy as well. This was one of the few vegan cheeses that did not contain a legume protein. I hope they change it back!
