I just got the VFan in this week. It’s absolutely beautiful. I appreciate the metal materials and quality components, the design is fantastic…. BUT, it is shockingly loud for its size on the higher settings. It seems like I’m stuck between only using it only the lowest settings, or getting accustomed to what sounds like a leaf blower outside your house. Still a nice fan that does the job, but don’t expect this to be very quiet unless you run it on the lowest setting.

LOVE IT! This is my 3rd Vornado fan that I have purchased because of the high quality construction, excellent, almost silent air circulation and fun vintage design. These are great fans. Not only providing great air movement but stylish enough to leave out year round. Vistors like how "cute" they are but they also do a good job to keep the house cool.

I just got this petite desktop version delivered today for use in my small study. The quality of the materials and swankiness of design is just what I expected, but the full room circulation isn't. I misundestood "multidirectional" to mean "rotating". You can only pivot the fan head to angle up or down. Big deal. It boasts some special air cone technology that spirals the air across the room, but it's a stretch to call that whole room circulation. My study did feel better than I expected last night from such a little fan in one fixed position, but not to compare with the rotating fan I replaced. Also, I'd call the lowest setting (with least circulating power) "whisper" quiet, but the second (more effective) setting I'd call a distinct hum; and I'd tolerate the noise of the third setting for triaging an overheated room. On the whole, it wasn't worth its price tag to me. Comparing it to a lesser quality fan of humbler design and price point that rotates, it doesn't win. I feel misled by the description of "whole room circulation".

My old Vornado fan was slowly malfunctioning so I thought to buy another Vornado and I came across this version. I liked the vintage look of it. I'll give an honest list of the pros and cons below: Pros: - It has five fan speed levels. It does low levels incredibly well; 1-3 are the most quiet which helps a lot for sleeping and making minor adjustments. 4 is reasonable white noise. - Doubles as a decor piece. Cons: - Speed level 5 is slightly weaker and a bit noisier compared to my decades old Vornado from long ago. I'm not sure why that is when I tried them back and forth. It sacrifices a bit of wind power for style so it is more suitable/sufficient for a bedroom nightstand. The fan won't be strong enough to quickly cool a larger room like a living room or garage. It mostly succeeds as a decor item than power but I was hoping it did well in both areas since I thought the technology had advanced. I still recommend/love this fan but only for small rooms.

Great decorative fan, works well for countertops. You really do have to be within the immediate area of the fan to feel any air, about five feet or less.

Great retro design. Have used it every day for a year and still functions perfectly. Love the three speeds—top speed is quite powerful. Would definitely purchase again.

I mean, in terms of looks, what more can you say. This is beautiful and truly adds to the decor. If you care about aesthetics like I do, it’s hard to find something more delightful to have sitting around. I’ve used this in my bedroom for a year, and have been so pleased, I decided to get one for the office this summer. In terms of airflow, this is good for its size. It’s not quite as strong as other vornados I have, but for a smaller room, it works great. I like that it’s quiet for the bedroom or home office, and I can use it to keep air flowing on different speeds all year. I’d say it does well in up to 200 sq feet or so. I’m so happy I got this, and delighted to add another to my (growing) collection of fans. This strikes me as a buy-it-for-life (or at least a long time) purchase, so I consider it worth the extra cost to enjoy more than just the air it provides.

After deciding on the “medium” size, I made a spreadsheet with all the medium size Vornado air circulator fan’s specs. This VFAN Alchemy stood out as being simple, quiet, efficient and oh, so cool looking. I’m very happy with my purchase.

I purchased the VFAN Alchemy a few weeks ago. I Love this fan! It is small, attractive and blends in well with the surroundings without taking up a lot space. It has a light background hum that I honestly don't even notice. It is not noisy like most fans. It has 5 settings which is great if you just a want a little air movement. It moves all the air in the room without feeling like you have air blowing on you constantly. It is a perfect fan for any room.

This is the third fan from Vornado that we have purchased, that should tell you how we feel about them. We have them in several rooms to keep the circulation going and it does seem to help with both heating and cooling efficiency. I was watching a MacGyver re-run and noticed he dismantled one in an episode to escape a locked room, many uses!

This fan is high quality, quiet and easy to adjust. Highly recommend.

I have purchased for friends as gifts and everyone LOVES the Vornado fan. It's like they never realized you could have a GREAT fan that looks like it is part of your decor - so very STYLISH!

I have used vornado fans for a very long time and this one is my favorite! Five settings of speed and basically the perfect amount of white noise. Also the vintage line is so beautiful

This is a beautiful yet highly functional fan. We needed something for the bedroom & I love that this is so minimalistic. No intrusive blue lights like most appliances today, no noise from an oscillator- just an air circulator that works as designed, is very quiet, & looks fantastic. It’s well built & does a great job in our 12x14’ room.

We’ve been using this fan, every night, for two months, now. So far, so good. It looks great, of course, and we haven’t noticed any unusual noises coming from it.

I received this fan for Christmas! It has 5 speeds, and gives the perfect amount of white noise when sleeping.

The Tornado Alchemy is solidly built and very quiet. it moves air very efficiently and is good looking to boot! I love this fan :)
