Wanda E. Brunstetter’s Amish Friends Outdoor Cookbook is a versatile cookbook that you can’t help but love! First there are the ways that the recipes (over 250!) are arranged: cooking on a stick, cooking in a pie iron, cooking in foil packets, cooking on cast-iron skillets, kettles and Dutch ovens, and finally, cooking on a grill. You say you don’t have or use any of those? How about recipes that don’t even involve cooking? This colorful cookbook includes many full color pictures of some of the recipes - sure to make your mouth water! You will find snack and dessert recipes, as well as side dishes and main courses. In the back, there are even recipes for bug repellant, and other pesky insect aids. Rounding out this useful book are campsite tips, and cleaning tips for how to clean your camping (or cooking out) equipment! If full on camping isn’t your style, these recipes can be adapted for ‘round the fire ring family fun! Each page is full of easy recipes that are sure to please! There are also personal anecdotes throughout, that only add to this cookbook’s charm. This book is equally appropriate for anyone who likes to dabble in cooking (or eating!) outdoors, regardless of whether you’re camping out, or not. I loved how versatile the recipes are -- if you can't cook outside, many can be made in the house. I also loved how "fun" the recipes are -- they're like the first step to an enjoyable evening with friends and family!!

Check out this handy cookbook! It's broken down into sections for cooking by campfires, cooking on a stick, using a pie iron, making foil packets, using cast irons, grilling, and recipes for marinades/sauces. There's also an index of key ingredients in the back. The recipes are easy to follow, and there are beautiful pictures throughout the book.

This is another terrific addition to the Amish Friends Cookbook series! The Amish Friends Outdoor Cookbook is filled with tips, suggestions, and over 250 delicious recipes that range from cooking on a stick, cooking in foil packets, cooking in kettles or Dutch ovens, and of course, cooking on a grill. I am amazed at the variety of foods that can be cooked on a stick and I long for some of the wonderful food available from cooking on the grill. Amish Friends Outdoor Cookbook is certainly a book for serious grill-masters but it's also perfect for novices like me. I'm hoping that it will help me become more than just a novice griller but this cookbook won't be put on the shelf for summer use only. There are many recipes that I plan to adapt to my stove and oven to be enjoyed all year long, and there are also wonderful tips and suggestions for fun family enjoyment. With beautiful pictures, nuggets of inspiration, and a spiral-bound cover that makes it easy to use, this is certainly a cookbook for all seasons! I love this Amish Friends Outdoor Cookbook! I received this cookbook from the author and Barbour Publishing as part of a cooking challenge. There was no obligation for a positive review.

Wanda E. Brunstetter's Amish Friends Outdoor Cookbook is the newest addition to her cookbook series. It is spiral bound and features many pictures of the recipe. I have enjoyed this cookbook and can’t wait to try more of these recipes. Lots of variety in recipes. I often get stuck making the same things over and over again. I was given a complimentary copy of this cookbook by the author and publisher. All words are my own.

Once again Mrs Wanda has put together amazing recipes from her Amish friends. And delivered a book full of delicious and easy to make recipes. I have made 3 already and all enjoyed by family and friends. And others pending to be made. Even the kiddo has his recipes picked that he wishes to make along with me.

Amish Friends Outdoor Cookbook contains some delectable recipes. I like that the recipes are easy to make outdoors. The recipes are easy to understand and do not contain a lengthy list of ingredients (you cannot take your kitchen with you when you go camping). The pictures had my mouth watering. I enjoyed the humor sprinkled throughout the cookbook. I live in Florida where it gets too hot to cook inside in the summer (even with air conditioning). Amish Friends Outdoor Cookbook gives me some creative options (you can only eat hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken so often). I like the type of binding used which ensures that the pages lay flat. I like the section with helpful advice such as making a campfire and dealing with insects. There is a recipe for making bubbles too. I am amazed at the number of items that can be cooked on a stick. There are some great ideas for jazzing up traditional campfire meals. I will have fun exploring the Amish Friends Outdoor Cookbook this summer.
So many great recipes options

My family enjoys making use of our grill for meals and Amish Friends Outdoor Cookbook offers a multitude of recipes for the grill or cooking over a campfire. There are recipes for cooking on a stick, using foil packets and Dutch ovens, and grilling that span from entrees and appetizers to desserts and even breakfasts. There are also recipes for sauces, snack mixes, and drinks. Bonus recipes include homemade bug spray and bubble solution for children. The delicious looking photos and lay-flat book design are also appreciated. Overall, a great choice!
