Not for eggs...
Unfortunately, the dye did not work for coloring Easter eggs. Using vinegar and water as directed, adding more dye and leaving eggs in for 40+ minutes, the eggs hardly picked up any color. I purchase for the “safer” ingredients.

Better off making your own dye
These were not too good for coloring Easter eggs. Wish I’d read the reviews first. The red was ok. It made a beautiful vibrant pink. And we made a purple one too by mixing with the blue. The yellow was also ok. But the blue and green barely did anything at all. I think I’d rather use artificial next year since it’s something we only really do once a year anyways. I actually made my own Easter egg dye last year which was really tedious, but they turned out way better than these. Might be worth the effort if you wanna make a lot of eggs though. Google how to do it. I’m just pregnant and tired this year lol.

Great natural dye!
Love this brand! It’s definitely not as vibrant as your normal artificial food due but that’s okay! Our eyes have been trained to have an eye for vibrant colors because of growing up with artificial dyes in everything 🩵

Christmas ruined
Literally ruined Christmas. Family was gathered to decorate cookies. I had made the plain icing, divided into three bowls. I wanted to make yellow, green and red. The first one was fine, vibrant like a good egg yolk. The green was not good, very muted like pea soup. I was able to make it a little better by adding blue, but it was nothing close the kind of green you'd want on your Christmas cookies. The red was a disaster. It came out purple! Not just a little mauve, but straight lilac! Unbelievable! Don't buy this!

Not true color in food day
No artificial colors means very strange color in my spritz cookies. Would not recommend. It looked like raw chicken.

Great for frosting/icings.
This food coloring is perfect for people who understand NATURAL food coloring. If you want your food to be colored as brightly as the Griswold's house then you're likely looking for the petroleum (previously coal tar) based artificial food colors. I added 10 drops in each container of frosting. I show the white base that I started with on white paper towel for reference.

I appreciate these
I love this natural option to food coloring. Are they perfect colors, no, but they color frosting fine and I don’t need my cakes perfectly red (the red is a bit pink). These are great and my kids love them too.

Turmeric Makes It Taste Bad
The yellow and green dyes had a bad odor to them. They are the two that use turmeric as an ingredient. Dabbed a bit on my fingertip, and I almost gagged. If you do not want the taste of your icing altered (in a bad way), I HIGHLY recommend not purchasing these. Additionally, the red requires a great deal of drops to even achieve a pink/purple hue. I appreciate the idea of natural ingredients, but when it can’t provide a good taste or an accurate color then there is really no point.

Obviously you aren't going to the get the bright traditional colors of food coloring that has the dye but I truly value and appreciate that these are all dye free!! I recommend

No artifical dyes!
I LOVE that these food dyes don't have artifical dyes! I've been looking everywhere and these were such a great find! Highly recommend if you've been looking to cut out artifical dyes.

Not good for Easter Eggs.
Too pale and I can't wait an hour plus to get a deeper color. The color is way too faded and I used all the dye and the picture is the result. I don't recommend this natural dye at all for easter eggs.

Satisfactory but would love to see deeper color
Love that there's no chemicals but colors are definitely a little weak for dyeing cookie dough. We were making earth cookies. I am satisfied with the blue (this required over half the bottle) but the green (a little less than half the bottle) almost baked out. I would definitely use it again and just use more color. Reviews were mostly for icing, so I wanted to add some insight for those looking to dye dough or cake.

Great Food Coloring!!
Wonderful product. 100% natural. No dyes. This can mean you need to use a little more to achieve your disred color but that is totally normal.
