Q: Can this be considered a personal item? I noticed that its depth is 10 inches which is an 1-2 inches bigger than the allowed personal item dimensions for Delta and JetBlue and American Airlines.

This was my first weekender bad and it’s a great size for quick travels. I love that there are so many different compartments for your pockets. If you’re worried about not having a bottom comparent for shoes you can easily use the side pockets for shoes or put them in the main pocket. There’s enough room to isolate your items from shoes if you’re worried about that.

This bag is large enough to pack quite a few things. The material is sturdy and keeps pretty clean and is also easy to clean. I have been able to fit clothes, accessories and snacks and still manage to push this under my seat during flights. There are several useful pockets inside and out. This bag also holds up and stands on its own instead of flopping over. Bag is a solid four stars for sure- but didn’t earn more stars because the strap is very uncomfortable and the material, although sturdy is pretty heavy on its own making the bag tiresome to use if you plan to use it at medium/to full capacity.

I just returned from 17 days in Europe (Paris-Malta-Florence-Tuscany-Rome), and this was the perfect carry-on and my go-to bag throughout the days when I needed to grab things I use all the time. This way, my products wouldn’t be sprinkled throughout the hotel room since we wouldn’t stay anywhere for more than a few days. I also like that this bag can hold on top of my luggage. However, depending on the weight of what is in this bag, it may be unsafe to stack it because my checked luggage bag tipped forward twice while this weekender was attached to the arm and upright. I purchased the sand-beige color, and I regret it slightly, as every drop of dirt shows very clearly. Black would likely be better if traveling through airports and setting the bag down consistently. Also- a rolling bag may be more convenient if traveling via plane to multiple destinations. This bag gets heavy and annoying, ie. JFK customs entrance is for two hours, and you must pick up and set down the bag every few minutes for every couple of steps.

Used this as my personal item with the budget airline Frontier. I checked that the measurements were within the guidelines before buying this and they were but I underestimated how much the bag would expand once filled. They’re pretty strict during boarding so they asked me to put my bag into the sizer and it if weren’t for the help of the airline employee I would’ve paid a ridiculous carry-on fee. It was hard to get in but it made it. I wish I had taken a picture but I was way too flustered for that. It also fit really well under my seat but I ended up putting it in an overhead bin. I definitely won’t be using it for the budget airlines anymore though. I also want to point that the bag gets EXTREMELY heavy once’s it’s filled. The material contributes to that. I only had a few clothes item, toiletries and my iPad in it and it felt like I filled it with books. Made it hard to carry on my arm and on my shoulder. Overall I was not pleased with the bag. I do love that it has a lot of pockets! This is more of a pack and put in the car for a road trip type of bag. But I wouldn’t carry this through another airport.
