Deep as a Shallow Pond

Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend

I H A T E returning stuff to stores but I have never returned something so fast in my life. This “game” was not deep. I should’ve read the reviews. This was more shallow than a job interview. If these questions were asked on a first date I’d leave immediately. Did they even try? Now that I’ve returned it to the store, I hope nobody buys it off the clearance rack. It’s not even worth picking up for free. Thank goodness I bought more than one game for my Girl’s Trip. If I could give less than one star I would. I forced myself to write this review so others don’t make the mistake of picking this game up like I did.

This game is supposed to be for friends and getting deport with them, but the questions are very surface level. Even the “deep” and “deeper” questions are pretty basic. It’s more so for like coworkers as opposed to people who are friends.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was by far one of my most hated games. None of the cards were interesting. Even as the levels got higher, the cards sounded the same. This could be good for say a 10 year old but a teenager or adult will probably hate this.
Boring

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This game is only good if you really don't know anything about your friends. We only played for about 10 minutes before getting bored and putting it away because we just were not amused by it at all.
Wasn’t Impressed At First But Give It A Shot

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I played this with some coworkers to try it out during our lunch break. At first, looking through the cards, I wasn’t very impressed. We ended up playing it a little different for the ice breakers, and trying to guess the answers before the person gave us the real answers. That was a fun way to play it. By the end, I actually really enjoyed it. I kept it in my work locker to play it at another lunch break.
Sparks really great conversations

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this for a family gathering where most of the time everyone is glued to their phones or whatever sports game is on the TV. The questions prompted some great conversations and discussions and everyone put away their devices to listen, ask follow up questions, laugh, and learn about each other. One word of caution, especially since I played this with family - some of the Deeper questions may be a bit awkward depending on your relationship with others. It may be worth the time to quickly skim and remove a few that are sexual in nature to keep the conversation clean and family-friendly. Else, if you are prepared for this scenario, it's easy to also just draw a new card. You can also draw a new card if one of the cards seems too similar to another that was recently drawn. Overall, we enjoyed this conversation-based game and plan on bringing it to get-togethers in the future. I also plan to use some of the prompts as conversation starters even when we aren't 'playing' the game.
Really fun and Interesting, but missing something

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a cute/fun game...but I wouldn't really call it a "game." You're not trying to get points or "win." You're just drawing cards to get to know your friends better. But the questions are actually interesting and thought-provoking. I played this a few times and you really DO get new stories out of people you've known for a long time and get to learn more about them and they get to learn more about you, which is really cool. Without the sexy cards, it would be fun to play this with family and older relatives too.
Really brings the friends together

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Me and my friends have played this so many times since we got this game. It’s an easy way to pass the time, as well as a super easy to get to know each other with questions you hadn’t even thought of before ! And there’s a lot of cards in the pack, so after three games we still haven’t run out! I love it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, let me start off by saying how much I love the concept of this game!! So fun, so interactive and the perfect game to play with your friends!! This being said, I really wish I had picked the couples addition one. I feel like the friends addition questions are bland.
Fun!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I know it says friends edition, but my fiancé and I played this game and it was a lot of fun! We learnt new things about each other that we never really considered asking beforehand. It's a great game. Passes the time well!
