About the Author

LOUISE K. BLIGHT is a conservation scientist and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Victoria's School of Environmental Studies. She has authored more than fifty scientific publications, and serves as the co-chair of the Birds Specialist Sub-committee of the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada, the expert national body that assesses threatened species. Louise lives in unceded Coast Salish territory on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, with her partner Iain, their poodle Poppy, and two indoor cats.
