Q: How prone to breaking are the ice makers?
A: This specific machine breaks for everyone it seems. Mine broke within 8 months since purchasing it, and other people who left reviews say theirs lasted anywhere between a few days to only a year.
submitted byihatewhirlpool - 3 years agoA: Mine broke in 6 days. It no longer senses that it's filled with water. And I didn't pay for extended warrantee because it cost the same amount as the unit itself! I feel ripped off all around.
submitted by - 1 year agoA: My first machine failed after about 2 yrs. The part that failed is a gear mechanism which lifts the tray up and opens the release gate to empty the ice into the storage bin. It's a common whichh fail.

Q: How do I remove the ice bucket? It’s too wide and can’t be pulled out pass the sensors
A: I had to use a knife to pry it open. This thing is awful to clean.
submitted byMike - 25 days agoA: Thank you for your question. The ice bucket should just lift straight up. There may be a piece of tape holding it in place for shipment if it is not coming out easily. customer service team

Q: Do I add water or it needs to be connected to waterline?
A: You do not need a water line- this has a resevoir that holds the water and makes the ice from there. You will need an electrical outlet though :-) Hope this helps!
