Grading Options Artist Grade: One or both sides mostly clear, bark intact and sanded smooth, with very small blemishes or knots. Bark intact and sanded smooth; irregular shapes possible and may include hairline cracks. Excellent for painting, carving, staining, or pyrography. Value Grade: Rougher appearance with unsanded patches, cloudy surfaces, larger knots or holes, broken bark, and larger cracks.
