Women's Corset Midi A-Line Dress - A New Day™

I wanted to love this dress, but just couldn’t make it work up top! I’m 5’5, 144, B-cup, 10/12 or M in most Target brand dresses but neither the 10 or 12 hit. In a perfect world I’d be a curvy hourglass shape to do this dress justice but without some tailoring or a well-padded strapless bra, it does nothing. BUT: love the pockets and the skirt is wonderfully swirly!

Size up for a larger bust. Love the dress

Absolutely love this dress. It is well made and flattering. True to size. The corset creates a smooth siloette. I love that it has side pockets that are not obvious and do not pooch out. The dress is lined so no need for a slip. I purchased one in white. This is a classic dress for an unbelievable price. I ordered two more in different colors.

I'm normally a size 16 and 42D. I did order an 18 because of the reviews, but I didn't need to. I strongly suggest referring to the measurements in the size guide. I also didn't realize the dress is canvas material, which is a thicker fabric than I expected. I don't have hips, so the flare of the dress was very complimenting. The dress is cute, but just not what I expected.

I bought the mint green online and I'm going back for the black gingham. It has pockets!!! 💕 and a side zipper that gives a really nice silhouette. The straps are wide enough that they hide bra straps. I'm 5'7, 190 lb, and wear a 40DD bra. I normally wear a 20- 22 (XXL) because of my boobs, but the 20 was very loose and too wide in the top. The straps kept falling off. So I exchanged it for an 18 and it fits perfect. It hits me about halfway between knees and ankles. Maybe it needs a slip underneath? It's been too cold to actually wear it outside yet to see. The material has the weight and feel of linen (it's not). Your mileage may vary. Way to go, Target!

I love the style of this dress but found it to run at least one size too large. I’m typically a size 2 and ordered a 2 but it is unflatteringly large in the top. Debating whether I should size down or just get it tailored. It’s beautiful otherwise!

The dress is pretty. As others have said, it runs a little small and I sized up. The zipper catches and is hard to pull up. The placement of the pockets caused the dress to flare out a little below the waist. It is also sheer and could use lining. I ended up returning, because my dress had a hole by the pocket.

Love the material of this dress, it is well made and fits perfectly.

Really wanted to like! The pockets are great. The shape is cute, but this was not made for thin people. XS had a lot of room in the waist and just hung. 5’ 5”, 105 lbs for reference.

I bought this dress in black and the blue and white print in the same size. The black dress fits like a glove, but the blue and white print gapes at the shoulders, and the waistline is larger. Also, the small photo online had me thinking it was more of a toile print than a larger tropical style print. I’m petite, and the large print looks kind of odd on me. 5’2” 115lbs purchased size 2. The length hits just a few inches above my ankles if this helps anyone.

I bought a size 12. I am usually a size 10 but because of the reviews I sized up. The dress has no stretch but fit perfectly. Has pockets and flows nicely. I weigh 170 and am 5’5 and have broad arms and shoulders. I bought the gingham one and it did not disappoint. The fit looks retro.

Beautiful dress with a flattering silhouette. I bought the light green one and it will definitely need a slip since the fabric isn't lined. I tried a couple of sizes and the zipper stuck by the pocket on both of them. I ended up sizing up for a more comfortable fit and there isn't any stretch. This dress would be perfect if it was lined.

I bought the blue print and it's so beautiful. The size is perfect. The dress can be dressed up or worn casually with sneaks.

Made well and fits nicely.

Abercrombie dupe. I sized up as a lot of you said it was tight in the bust and I'm overly endowed but ended up with a very baggy dress. I will be exchanging it for the next size (maybe 2) down. Zipper does catch, my partner couldn't get it up. Verdict is still out in if I love it but it's worth a shot!

I did buy the green dress; although it is a cute dress, I will have to return it to the store. I am 5’3” and it comes right at my ankles without shoes on. I do not have a large chest so there is a little gap in the chest area where it falls on me and the straps have a gap on my shoulders as well. The torso fits well and rest is the dress is great. However, I do have a bit of a pear shape/hourglass shape on me so where the pockets land makes my hips stand out a bit more than I like to have it. Material feels nice but I believe because the straps and chest area don’t sit well, it’s the main reason for having to return it.

For reference, I'm 4'11" / 119lbs / 34c. I got this corset midi a-line dress in white, size 4. I'm normally a size 6. Nonetheless, this dress is beautiful and timeless. I had been looking for a more structured midi dress and saw it in-store. I made a beeline to it right away. While this particular dress wrinkles a bit easily, it is flattering and not see through due to the inner lining. I tried it on with black undies and didn't have a problem seeing it show through. I haven't washed it yet so I can't speak for it shrinking or not. The shoulder straps are about .5" - 1" too long, but tailoring will make it fit perfectly. I have a short torso and this dress sits perfectly at my waist. Because I am petite, it hits about 2 inches above my ankles -- this is exactly where I like midi dresses to be on me. I took 1 star away for the straps being a bit long and it wrinkling easily just from being in the shopping bag. I can't wait to wear this in the spring/summer.

Love the color. A little see through

I bought the gingham, red and blue floral. They are all cut differently in the bust. The gingham size 2 fit perfectly, but the floral and red were so tight, I had to take my bra off, and I'm only a 34B! Even without the bra, the red was still tight across my bust. I know it's a corset style, but there shouldn't be such drastic differences in the same size but different colors of the same dress. I don't know why this has become such an issue with Target's brands. The weight and length are good (I'm 5'8"). I'm keeping the gingham but returning the other two.
