Target’s “Inclusive” Sizing Overlooks Petites

I was so excited to find a pair of affordable, wide-leg, flowy, business casual pants with an elastic waistband—exactly what I was looking for! They come in short, regular, and long lengths, which I thought was great… until I realized that the short and long lengths are available in every size except 0. This is extremely disappointing, especially from a brand I thought was inclusive when it comes to sizing. Target has made great strides in offering extended sizes for plus-size shoppers, but it seems that inclusivity doesn’t extend to petite sizes. It’s frustrating to find the perfect pair of pants only to realize that my size isn’t offered in the length I need. Petite shoppers deserve the same consideration as plus-size shoppers. I really hope Target improves its size offerings to be truly inclusive for all body types. Do better Target.

These are the most beautiful color but the legs are so wide it sits so weird on my body. If I go down a size it would be too tight on my waist but the bagginess is too unflattering to keep. So sad about these :( I’d say try them on to see if you like how they sit on your body!

Good fit, static cling, lint

I ordered these black pants in size 8, regular length and they fit me well. My waist and hip measurements are 31” and 41.5” and I am 5’7” tall. The length is good to wear with flats, and the pants fit at the waist and are not tight in the hips. The fabric drapes well but it attracts lint and dust like you wouldn’t believe. This may not be a problem with lighter colors. The fabric is also prone to static cling, so put lotion on your legs before wearing these. I don’t love how the faux back pockets have just loose fabric to brace them instead of a piece that ties into the waistband. The loose reinforcement sometimes needs ironing to not look lumpy, and I find that annoying. Similar target pants I have from a couple years back have sturdier faux pocket reinforcement and I prefer them. That is a small detail but I think worth mentioning. Overall these are decent pants for summer office wear.

These are great quality and are super flattering. They somehow minimize my belly even with the pleats. They have a little bit of stretch to them. I'm between an 8 and 10 usually and the 8 fit perfectly! The pockets are deep and super functional if you have to bend and stoop a lot during the day.

I've been on the hunt for basic black trousers that are flattering. These are amazing. I'm 5'2" and got the 4 short. They are the perfect length with a heel. The fabric is nice and they are a good wide length without being too wide. Hopefully they wash well.

Very nice dress slack. The fabric is comfortable and the weight of it makes them drape nicely. I actually went down a size normally 8/10, I bought a 6. A little snug in the waist, but it has elastic along the back of the waist and I felt they weren’t as boxy, even though I know it is a fuller leg.

Great looking pants! As other reviewers have mentioned, it’s an a A&F dupe. I was not willing to pay the A&F price. These are great alternatives. Just as nice. I’m 5’4 the length was perfect. I like them a little longer. My waist is a 26 and I got the size 2 and they fit great. I bought every single color. Three of them is the price of 1 A&F pair. Buy them! You won’t regret it.

Finally found a perfect black trouser. At 5’2” and pear shaped, finding pants that fit perfectly is difficult, always too long or too big in the waist. These pants are perfect, elastic in the waist for great fit, not too wide of leg and short length is great with heels and platform sneakers. Pants washed and dried easily without wrinkles and honestly are as comfy as my sweats. I’m 5’2” 130 lbs, usually a 4-6, got a 6 short, fit comfortably loose, maybe could have fit a 4.

These are great pants. Really nice fabric with a good drape. They do run on the long side but the measurements in the description are accurate. I went short instead of my normal regular and mine are perfect. I’m normally a 30 or 31” inseam and 5’5” 150 lbs. I ordered an 8 short.

These are CUTE and comfy but they collect EVERYTHING - every hair, every piece of dust, every fuzz around you. I love the way they look but feel “dirty” wearing them. I bought my normal size 2 and wish I would’ve sized down to a 0 - they run a little big.
