A: The Depth is 47.64", which is where they reccomend you place the chairs.

Q: Does this need to be assembled? Can the butcher block top be taken off or not attached if I am using quartz instead?

A: You do not have to install the butcher block. I had a piece of quartz cut to the same size of the butcher block and had it installed and the appeareance is night and day. Beautiful and very modern.

A: Hi meg - Super question! The top is made of unfinished rubberwood. Any butcher block-type finish can be added per the manufacturer’s instructions for a layer of protection.

The top of this island was slightly warped when it arrived but we were able to get it down with the cams. After a couple of months two corners popped out due to significant warping that has only gotten worse in the months. At first, we could get the cams to hold for a few hours or days. Now the top immediately pops out when we tighten the cams. I tried to submit an issue for a replacement top but the only option is a full return via shipping.

We have had this island now for 8 months, and in the last 2 months we noticed that the top was starting to warp. Each corner was starting to rise up and recently the wood has started to crack in several places. We've taken care of it, we've kept it clean, we've conditioned the wood and none of that seemed to help.

Obsessed, we put this together about 6 months ago and it’s so high quality, the drawers work great, and found the perfect baskets to put in the open areas. We did seal the top since it comes untreated.

Assembled this the day I got it and initially liked it, only to discover a week later one corner had popped out of the cam lock. Disassembled it to discover the whole top had warped! This is within one week in a very dry climate! Huge hassle to return with multiple conversations with Target & UPS. Target does have a great return policy and eventually made it right as they always do, but this is the second piece of wood furniture I’ve purchased from them that I had issues with. Ended up buying IKEA island instead. Would have preferred all wood, but not willing to risk losing multiple more hours on assembly/returning if the manufacturer can’t properly cure wood.
3+ years and still looks and functions like new!

I love this island! Best purchase I have made from Target. I have had this island for 3 years + it still functions and looks new. It is perfect for what I needed. I paired it with stools from the Studio McGee line. Added drawer organizers from Amazon. Slowly updating the rest of my outdated kitchen around it. Really great piece ❤️

Overall, I love it. It’s functional, the perfect size. It came with instructions and all parts intact. It did get a minor nick on it on one of the shelves soon after building, but nothing major. I stained and sealed the top based on the reviews of the top being unfinished which it is. This is definitely a design flaw for something this expensive. Overall I am happy with the product and it’s the only island I could find in this build with drawers. It is spacious and super functional, and has totally transformed my kitchen.

I was going to get ikea one but I really wanted drawers. Grabbed when it was on sale for $320.This was super easy to put together. My only worry was open shelves because I had cabinet before. I winded up adding all baskets to hide everything. I have no big complaints but it's only been a month. I gave 4 stars because I'm not 100% on wood top. It's nice but a little rough. I won't use clear coat. I did light sanding but not super smooth. I have used butcher block oils and protection but doesn't hold. I assume because the wood is probably not the best. We'll see how it holds up. Glad o got on sale and not for full 500. My cat keeps hanging out on top lol

It comes unsealed. The quality of the product for the price is not good at all. I ended up selling it. I bought a much better quality one from Ikea. It cost less than this one but it was much better quality!

So happy with this island! I bought 2 to sit side by side in my long kitchen space. The quality is very sturdy, I’ve had them for 6 months and they’ve held up great. I struggled to find a standalone island with drawer and shelf storage and an overhang for seating and this one fit the bill perfectly. I’ve treated the butcher block with mineral oil a couple times and haven’t had any issues. Assembly was simple and didn’t take long!

I absolutely LOVE this table! I have been looking for a kitchen island for months. I ordered one from a competitor and it was junk. I ended up sending it back and spent a little more for this one. It is a solid piece of furniture. My boyfriend put it together himself in a little over an hour. None of the pieces were damaged, the instructions were included and it was fairly easy to put together. I own several pieces of the hearth and hand products and I am satisfied with everything I purchased. If I had to be picky about anything it would be the top. The wood is not sanded and finished like the other reviews stated. I put several coats of butcher block oil on it as I did not want to ruin the top of it. It did not have to be sanded. It just needed some butcher block oil on it. I would still recommend and buy this product again and again. I purchased 2 of the magnolia hearth and hand counter stools to use with it and they are perfect.

Lots of Split Wood and Damaged Drawer Face Corners. As we were putting this together ran into split wood on what holds up the island, the sides that hold this piece up. The drawer faces were broken off on the corners & it appears they tried to cover up with black paint. They didn't even sand them. This piece should be way cheaper than the price and once you're putting it together your only choice is to return it.

Price is way too high considering the quality. Butcher block top is rough and unfinished. You have to seal/sand it. You shouldn't have to do that if you are buying someone like this. It's a really nice piece that is functional, but the top just ruins it.

This piece is really cute and fits are space as intended! Only issues are 1. it didn’t come with an instruction manual and 2. the brass hardware is a lot more dull in person. The pictures show a much brighter brass. Luckily my husband was able to figure out how to put it together without a guide, so overall we’re happy with this item!

there were cracks all around the holes for the cams and screws. it fell apart as soon as we placed the cam into the holes
