Summary of reviews
The replacement spools for the trimmer have received mixed feedback from guests. While many appreciate the ease of installation and the effectiveness of the trimmer itself, the spools often face issues such as tangling, breaking, and improper feeding. Guests have noted that the line does not perform as well as the original, leading to frustration during yard work. Despite these concerns, the trimmer's power and convenience remain highlights for many users.

Why are the spools for WG168,WG184 & WG191 not part of the free spools for life promotion?
Disappointed In These Spools

I couldn’t be more disappointed with these spools as everyone I ordered kept breaking the line causing continual stoppages. As I got closer to the end of the spool the line would stop threading because it was tangled on the spool from the winding process. Every spool in the box was like this!

I like the trimmer/edger with the original spool line that came with it. But the replacement spools are awful. First of all the line is not round and smooth like the one that came with the trimmer when I purchased it. The replacement spool line has a twine like shape that constantly breaks especially when using the edger.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had the trimmer with the spool line for several years now. The trimmer works well, and the spool line is easy to change. We like the way it works. The price is good.

The string works well for cutting weeds but not so well for edging. It seems I have to advance the string every few feet when edging along a sidewalk. I wish it was stronger and didn't break so easily

Hello Valued Customer. Thank you for sharing your experience and review with us. It is unfortunate to learn that the Spool & Line for WG168, WG184, & WG191 Trimmers (WA0014) did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your feedback as this will help us to improve with our products. -Shelby L.
Sticks to itself and breaks often

Only because I don’t want to waste my initial investment, I have to keep buying these. However, I get so tired of only being able to edge 10 feet before the plastic string/cord catches/sticks to itself or breaks and stops working. I have to manually feed to extend the cord. As a 70+ year old, all of that bending really hurts my back. I am seriously thinking of giving up on this brand. I’ve complained before, but Worx never bothered to reply.

Hello Valued Customer! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and review. We greatly appreciate your feedback as it provides us a better understanding of where we can improve. It is unfortunate to learn that our spools have fell below your purchase expectations. Empty spools can be refilled using your choice of 0.08-inch trimmer line, which can be purchased at most hardware stores. Thank you for choosing WORX tools!
USELESS

While I love everything else about the weed eater edger the spools are worthless. They are wrapped so poorly that I have to constantly remove and restart them. If not for this issue I would give this tool 5 stars without hesitation.

The replacement spool works very well and it's the most efficient way to take care of the jobs that need to be done. I have tried rewinding the spools myself and I am never able to let the spool out automatically. Having over 1000 feet of trimming to do I can't waste time and energy to get the job done I just need it done efficiently.
Convenient but overpriced

While this cartridge is very easy to exchange and much more convenient than trying to re-spool using bulk line it is extremely overpriced. In all likelihood, I will spend the 5 minutes it takes to spool using bulk line.

Stringer line jams

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Stringer line tightens on itself not allowing it to come out - have to open the spooler constantly to unravel tight spool. Wish there was smooth spool instead of twisted! Junk!

Hello Valued Customer. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and review with us. The spool & line for WG168, WG184, & WG191 Trimmers (WA0014) is Worx DNA2 DoubleHelix cutting line which offers more durability and flexibility for a longer life. These pre-wound spools are designed to load into your electric Worx trimmer in seconds without hassle. It's unfortunate to learn that this has happened with your trimmer line. You can buy string from your local hardware store and wound it up yourself but if you do that, please ensure the line diameter is the same. Should you have any additional questions or concerns please contact our Solution Center, Monday-Friday 9am-6pm EST.

Hello Valued Customer! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and review. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Please note one way to help alleviate the issue is to take the bar and chain off of the tool, then reassemble it to make sure it is tightly in place. After you place the bar and chain on the tool, pull the bar outwards (away from the motor) and then start twisting the auto tension knob. As you tighten the knob, lift the tip of the bar at a slight upwards angle. Once fully tightened, let go of the bar and check the tension in the chain. Tipping the bar at an upward angle as you tighten it allows for added tension and typically resolves any issues with the chain popping off.
40V Trimmer String

We've had an extremely wet first quarter in Phoenix & my back yard turned into a small jungle, & the only yard tool I have is my 40V Worx trimmer. After buying a fresh spool of string 2 weeks ago, only about 1% - 2% of the yard is green. I had some weeds that were 3 feet tall with 3/4 inch thick stalks & this trimmer line was durable enough to clear the entire yard.. & it's a pretty good sized yard (45ft x 55ft). I was able to hold the trimmer on an angle & take everything down to the bare dirt.. & there's still plenty of line left. I'm actually pretty impressed with the performance of both the trimmer & the durability of the line. Definitely recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a fan of the color green, I am so thankful that this trimmer line has maintained this green color. When the red trimmer lines started to get sold, I was worried that I would have to transition but I thankfully have not had to. Thanks Worx!
