A: The XL Non-Slip Square Shower Mat is best suited for smooth surfaces. To aid installation, run the product under warm water to soften the suction cups before pressing them firmly onto the surface.

A: Hello Teresa - The XL Non-Slip Square Shower Mat with Center Drain Hole was designed to stick to smooth surfaces. Textured surfaces or any surface with raised bumps or even tiles with deep grout lines may cause problems during the installation process. If a customer is having trouble, a helpful hint to getting the cups to suction is running the product under warm water to soften the cups a bit before installing. We recommend pressing on several cups with your hand to secure before use. Thank you!

The mat has an awful plastic smell that will not go away. We have tried everything to get rid of it. Had it in the sun for days, tried washing it, airing it out. We have had it for weeks now and if we put it indoors it will stink our house and give us a headache.

I bought this because I thought it would fit in my square shower nicely. It does, but it is very, very thin. There is no padding whatsoever. The suction cups on the bottom do not grip and the whole mat slips. Don't waste your money.

We started noticing a sewer type odor in our shower. We were about to call a plumber when we noticed the odor was actually coming from the mat. I loved this mat until we discovered this. It is a nice size and fit our shower well, but could not stand the odor.

Good mat for showers
Pleased with this mat in clear. Just the right size for my shower and good grip. Feel safe standing on it. What I don't appreciate is that is was shipped folded, not rolled. Bath and shower mats are always packaged rolled. What was someone thinking??? It is taking time to work out the folds.
