Yogachariya Jnandev: - This book on Ayurveda and Yoga Chikitsha is a research work compilation for all the sincere Yoga, Health, Spiritual Seekers and Yoga Chikitsha or Yoga Therapy professionals who wish to use basic ayurvedic principles of dosha, dhatus and agnis to support the yoga Chikitsha Program supported by activated diet. Yogachariya Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani mentions that wholistic yoga Chikitsha is to help the yoga follower or care seekers to attain their full potential.
Yogacharini Anandhi: -This book was written during the two-year yoga therapy training with Yo- gacharya Jnandev and his team as
teachers and students, we experienced that yoga Chikitsa is difficult to be successful without the sister science Ayurveda Chikitsa.
Originally, Chikitsa was referring to both Ayurveda and yoga and these two were not considered separate. During our involvement with the yoga therapy students, we faced this connection and we thought we can put our experience, our research and our knowledge into a book
for our students and anyone interested in yoga and Ayurveda as sister sciences.

To achieve this Yogic integration at all levels of our being, it is essential that we take into consideration the all encompassing multi dimensional aspects of Yoga that include the following: a healthy life nourishing diet, a healthy and natural environment, a wholistic lifestyle, adequate bodywork through Asanas, Mudras and Kriyas, invigorating breath work through the use of Pranayama and the production of a healthy thought process through the higher practices of Jnana Yoga and Raja Yoga.
Summary of Book by Louisa Humphrey
To achieve yogic integration into all levels of our being, it is essential that a multi-dimensional approach which includes all aspects of yoga is followed. This includes a wholesome, nourishing diet, a healthy environment and lifestyle in addition to the (yoga) practices carried out on our yoga mats. This first part of this book provides an insightful look into the yogic perspective on health, the principles of Yoga Chikitsa and the application of yoga as therapy in order to live a healthy life. The second part of the book blends yoga theory with Ayurveda to provide an oversight of the role that Ayurveda can play in improving health. Including:
- A detailed look at the three Doshas; Vata, Pitta and Kapha
- Take the quiz and learn how to identify the composition of Doshas within the body
- Factors that can aggravate the Doshas causing imbalances and how these can be identified
- The impact of the doshas to the body, mind and emotions
- The benefits of eating an activated diet
- Fasting and Ayurveda
- The importance of good digestive health as per Ayurveda and yogic theory
Review Quotes
Yoga as a life style has an answer to depression, stress, strain and anxiety. Engaging in the Asanas, Kriyas and Mudras along with the proper Pranayama goes a long way to aid in relieving the condition. Yoga practice is basically isometric, rather than isotonic. Therefore, it has an advantage for all types of depression. Isometric Yoga plays body movement against the breath, while
isotonic activity is to be observed in heavy work sports and recreational play. Although the latter does give a false sense of relief from tension, only a personality change can relieve the condition totally. It is to be sadly noted that Western culture has advanced a long way in using relaxation techniques in every form of recreation, sport and medicine, while here
in India, little or nothing is known about Hatha Yoga relaxation or Jnana Yoga counselling which are both fields producing dynamic recovery
from depression and repression. It is to be hoped that leading Research Centres devote time to this valuable research field. More people are dying daily from conditions caused by anxiety, stress, and tension than by all other diseases put together. Yet, this is hardly recognized in the statistics of death from so-called "natural causes."
