Too small and narrow

I really wanted to like these as they are really cute, but they are so stiff and narrow. I kind of suspected it based on appearance of shoe and price, but wanted to try anyways. No amount of loosening the laces would help. I had to fight to get them on, and once I did my foot was actually in pain. The support is pretty stiff as well. I would say my feet are normal, not wide by any means.
