I have been a big fan of Zwilling 4 star cutlery since I bought my first chef and utility knives 30+ years ago (and still use every day). Now my daughter is going out on her own and I bought this set for her. These knives have the same look, feel, and construction of the 4-star knives I purchase in the 80's, so I am sure my daughter will be using them long after I am gone.

These two knives are good with so many prepping tasks its hard for me to think about life without them. The 7-inch santoku is my go-to knife. It handles 85% of all that I do in the kitchen. It's is awesome on all vegetables and fruits. The length and strength means that I can slice everything from jicama to tomatoes; I use it to chop and mince meat too. All without missing a beat. The 4-inch paring knife is terrific for coring and peeling and making garnishes. It's like a scalpel. Although dishwasher safe, all knives perform and look better if they are hand washed. I’ve had a Four Star in my collection for decades. And it still comes out for certain jobs. I expect it will be there for a while longer. There’s a reason the Four Star line has been a part of Zwilling’s lineup forever. It was designed with professionals in mind, so the focus was on safety, comfort and durability. The ‘grippy’ polypropylene handle is proportionate to the blade and the work - therefore no excess weight. The blade steel and method of construction is proprietary and at the forefront of technology. The blade can both take a beating and hold an edge, ideal for daily use and hard work.
