oasis guitar case humidifier

Oasis case humidifiers are designed for a range of stringed instruments and some woodwinds and are intended to be used inside their cases. Typical fits include violins, violas, cellos, mandolins, ukuleles, acoustic (flat-top) guitars and some jazz guitars, and clarinet cases.

Oasis humidifiers use embedded neodymium magnets and include the required mounting hardware: either a steel belt-style clip or an adhesive-backed stainless-steel strip. The magnet in the humidifier attaches to the clip or the stainless-steel strip for installation inside the case.

Most Oasis case humidifiers hold about 32 cc of water. Initial filling may require multiple syringe fills; subsequent refills often need about one syringe. Original-style units typically humidify for about 7–10 days between refills. Higher-output versions provide more humidity per day and therefore require more frequent refilling.

A digital hygrometer measures relative humidity and should be clipped inside the case so readings reflect conditions near the instrument. For a guitar, place the sensor at the edge of the sound hole on the top, close the case, and allow about 4–6 hours for the humidity to stabilize before checking the reading.

Standard/original Oasis humidifiers are intended for environments roughly in the 25–40% relative-humidity range. Higher-output models are suggested when room humidity is very low (below about 25%). Above about 40% RH a humidifier is generally not needed. Instruments are at greater risk when relative humidity drops below 40%.

Original-style Oasis case humidifiers commonly provide humidification for about 7–10 days per fill. Higher-output models deliver more daily humidity and will typically need refilling more frequently.

Higher-output models use a different membrane/material that provides about 50% more daily humidity while retaining a similar physical size. Because they produce more humidity, they require more frequent refilling and are intended for very dry environments (roughly below 25% RH).
