These urine and stain removers are formulated for both soft and hard surfaces. Soft surfaces: rugs, carpets, mattresses and upholstery. Hard, nonporous surfaces: bathroom tile and grout, toilets and urinals, concrete, outdoor walls and similar sealed surfaces. Some formulas may contain hydrogen peroxide for cleaning and odor removal.
Many items state they kill 99.9% of germs, bacteria or viruses. Wipes commonly instruct keeping the surface visibly wet for 4 minutes for disinfection (one wipes product lists a 15-second contact for certain viruses). Multi-surface bleach sprays list a 30-second wet contact time. Mold-and-mildew sprays direct spraying, waiting about 5 minutes, then rinsing to kill mold and mildew.
