This rug is for my kitchen and arrived as pictured online. Colors are very nice and it stays in place on linoleum without a pad. I had expected a kind of no-pile indoor/outdoor carpet texture but it's incredibly soft and comforting underfoot. No rubber odor. HOWEVER it sheds a lot. I have rough feet and am constantly having to pick lots of fluff (and i mean lots) off of them every day. I did follow directions and vacuumed the rug when I put it down, but I only used a little stick vac. I would, therefore, recommend you make several passes with a stronger vac (or wear shoes all the time?). Haven't washed it yet, so can't speak to that, but i am a little concerned it will shed a lot in the washer.
