I followed instrucxtions but the next day half of it had started lifting. By 48 hours half had flaked off. I even used the matching top coat. No luck. Stick to regular polish

I had a manicure done with this polish in red. I own it in pale pink and have never had an issue but when I took the red off, my nails were stained orange! I tried using copious amounts of polish remover but nothing works :( . I would not use this again and won't repurchase the pink color either. And since they changed the formulation of the classic Mademoiselle shade (too saturated and not sheer anymore), I'll probably not buy this brand again. Oh well....sometimes change is not a good thing.

Hi there Sadie28, We understand how disappointing it can be when a product does not provide you with the result you are looking for. This longwear nail enamel goes on bare nails without a base coat. However, some people are more likely to experience staining from intensely pigmented polish shades. Those with dry nails are especially at risk. If you see staining during polish removal, lightly buff the nail to remove polish residue from the surface of the nail plate. I have a few shades of this polish, and I prefer Essie in general over other brands. I find the polish self-levels well, the brush shape makes it easy to apply, and it lasts longer than most store polishes. Also very easy to remove with acetone, even more so than non-gel polishes. With that said, this definitely doesn’t last as long as advertised (up to 14 days with top coat reapplication). If other polishes chip around day 2 of wear, this polish usually lasts about 4 days before chipping, at least on my dominant hand. I don’t have a job or hobbies where I’m rough on my hands. I find doing my manis relaxing, so I don’t mind doing it a couple time a week, but I wish I could get a full week of wear. There are also weird sticky threads that come out of the bottle sometimes, not sure what that is. Overall, better than any other store polishes I’ve tried but definitely can’t compare to a professional mani.

Color is drastically different than what is shown in the photo. I ordered the Pinky Ring expecting more of a hot pink color, but it's more of a pastel pink color. Not what I was going for. Initially I thought I was given the wrong color because it looks so different.

looking at the bottle i expected it to be a bit more opaque… it’s very sheer but you can build coverage and it turns out to be such a gorgeous pink! still semi sheer after 4 coats but it’s a really nice clean look. just wish it were less expensive because for the amount of coats needed you don’t get a tone of product for the $
