Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

    Disapointed in Targets shipping and handling

    I ordered 4 of these shirts. Like them so much we ordered 5 more. The shirts are nice and thick and wash well, the buttons on the sleeve are cute. That being said on my last order, whoever packaged them rolled them like they were ringing a towel, tied them in a knot and shoved them in a bag tiny bag. Then all of five of them were in the shipping container. The shirts came to me looking like they had already been worn and damaged even though they’re brand new. Unfortunately, they’re all running out of stock because Target never carries enough for back to school. So I have to keep these otherwise I risk A— not having enough shirts or B—getting the same employee who doesn’t know how to package things properly. This is a line issue that needs to be addressed- every single one of our shirts was not handled well and it’s upsetting that my money and items are not cared for.
