They really work.

I've tried a lot of other footgear to prevent sliding on ice and YakTrax are the best. They stay in place, they don't suddenly fall off, and never slide. The one problem has been that they get rusty.

They can slip off so best to use a Velcro tie connecting the two sides from the top. Great aside from that.

I really like my Yaktrax diamond grips. This is the second time I have bought them, and this time I got them for my husband and my mother too. She is 86 years old and I swear with them on she actually can't slide on the ice. She literally tried and couldn't. They are easy to put on and take off while I am standing up, and fit easily into my back pack. I wear them on our cattle ranch and hiking in the mountains. Love them!

Love the diamond grip trax, they work great on ice, snow, melting snow, ice , mud. They wear great without any pressure or push back into the sole of your foot.

I have had two pair now I love the grip on the icy conditions, although both pair have failed with in one season each due to the the diamond tie wire failing because of corrosion, the supporting cable hardware needs to be stainless material to hold up against the corrosion caused form salt.

I am a 63 year old healthy and relatively strong female. I walk a mile / mile and half to work and like to walk for exercise. I got these because in Colorado where I live some sidewalks will be snowy and then I'll hit an intersection that is totally clean. With my walking trax walking on asphalt damages the metal. Not the case with these. They are great on ice and snowpack. I felt very secure wearing them. But hard as heck to put on! If you have any problems with your hands or, as I do, knees, I don't recommend them. I wear a 9 or 9 1/2 and I can see that medium is the correct size--from how the metal stretches over the bottom of my boot. (There would be too much or dangling metal if I had a larger size I think.) Still, it's a real struggle. I finally decided to put them on the boots before putting them on, but even that was hard. I have to use both hands with all my strength. And when I say hard, it takes minutes to get just one on. For perspective, I have found other trax hard to put on but these take the cake!

I am a 63 year old year-round trail runner. I used the Diamond Grip Traction Device on mixed condition runs this winter (snow, ice, frozen mud, and icy rock) on single-track mountainous terrain. They were a game-changer. Approximately 30 miles per week and no falls. They fit my trail running shoes perfectly. Highly recommended for snowy winter running. I was also pleasantly surprised how light they felt on my shoes. My typical winter runs were in the range or 8 to 16 miles.

I have been using your regular yaktrax for years but loved the feature of these diamond grips that they can go on all surfaces. I was always worried that I was dulling the regular ones when the trail went from icy to rocky.

I live in NE where ice and snow is common in the winter. Having taken up hiking during the pandemic I needed something with good traction to continue the exercise. Since buying these, I have confidence in walking on ice whether it's walking the dog or taking a hike.

I bought these 3 years ago for my wife and myself. We hike 2-5 miles almost every day year round. They work great whether you're on snow, slush or ice. The trails typically have some hills and may have exposed roots. We always feel confident that we have adequate traction but use common sense when on smooth ice (tred carefully). We avoid using them on dry concrete and asphalt. Additionally we always rinse them off with water when we get home to remove any salt or other contaminants and then dry them with an old towel. After three years, they still look practically new.

Great on ice and hard packed snow but, I can blow through a 2-3 pairs each winter. The cable system always fails. They do last longer if you don't wear them on concrete/pavement so I use mine exclusively for hiking and I bring an extra pair with me. A bit expensive for how long they last but, until I find something better, these perform like I need them to.

I bought the Diamond Grip Yaktrax because they were advertised as good on transitional surfaces. I live on a snow / ice covered gravel road that rarely has any bare spots but it's possible to hit gravel periodically. I'm careful to normally walk in the snow / ice covered part of the road because I recognize it promotes the longevity of the Diamond Grips. I bought my Diamond Grips from an outfitter up the road and they didn't last three weeks before the rear connecting cable broke. I was extremely pleased with the performance of the grips on the icy roads but I'm frustrated by the lack of durability.
Functionality *****/Durability **

These have been by far the most functional winter non-slip attachment I’ve found. Takes a special situation to slip in these, ie dusting of snow on sheet of ice. In terms of durability, I was hoping to get at least a couple of years out of a pair. Lasted only about a year till the cable frayed and snapped. I will buy another pair because nothing out there competes in terms of functionality.

I found these work great for the working person. Climbing in and out of heavy equipment and operating it is easy with these. The grip on these is great in ice and snow and so much better than the ones with springs. They are not at all slippery on concrete or hard rocks like other models can be. The rubber section lays well on several of my boot sizes and is secure. I have had no 'shifting' problems and can wear them all day without thought. I like the aggressive traction design. You can't wear them on tile, wood, or carpet without damage though. so beware of that. I do wear them on glazed ice and they grip great. I would recommend these to anyone and buy them again myself, but for the cost, I do hope they last.
