Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

Awkward fit

My daughter saw this in the store and loved it so we tried it on in 2 sizes. Unfortunately the fit is awkward and neither of them worked. The smaller size fit through the chest but was too short and the large size was baggy and awkward looking in the back. If buying this I strongly recommend trying it on first.

Buy a matching cami to wear underneath!

The back of this dress is entirely too revealing for a little girl in my opinion. However, I purchased a matching Cat and Jack cami (I bought the minty green dress and they have a cami that matches perfectly) for my daughter to wear underneath and now it's age appropriate as well as adorable. So 1 star (or zero stars!) without the cami and 4-5 stars with!

Wide neckline makes the sleeves fall down

We tried this on in store, because it looked short, but even though it was well above my daughter's knee, the neck was so wide that it was falling off of her little shoulders and dragging the rest of the neckline down. I didn't mind the open back like some other reviewers, but unless you have a broad shouldered child, this will (literally) not hold up.

Open back not age appropriate

The style and color and so pretty from the front, and then you turn it around and there's an inappropriate back cutout. It's so frustrating. Not only is it not necessary, but a lot of little girls this age range are beginning to wear bras and can't wear a dress like this. They're little girls, stop putting open backs on their clothes! Let them be comfortable and stop trying to make them dress like grown women.

Back very revealing

The patterns are pretty, and the length is great, but then you turn it around to the back. This is not appropriate for young girls with how much skin is exposed. I considered this as an Easter dress for my daughter and decided against it after she tried it on because it is not something to wear to church. The fit is not great for small framed girls either, the back was very loose and revealed more skin than necessary.
