  • Bust

    Measure across the fullest part of your bust, keeping tape measure level.

  • Torso

    Run tape measure from the top of your shoulder,between your legs & up again back to where you started.

  • Waist

    Bend slightly to one side. The crease is where your natural waistline is. Measure a comfortably loose, level line around that point.

  • Hip

    Stand with your feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of your hips & Seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit well. Now measure along the seam from the crotch to the leg opening.

Poor Shape & Sizing

The quality of the fabric is great and the design is beautiful. The sizing on this is way off. The top part was so tight I could barely get it on and off. You definitely cannot wear a bra with this and there is no structure. The waistline is too bulky with way too much extra fabric making it fall awkwardly around your hips and bunching in the front. I wanted to love this and make it work but there’s just no possibility of that.

Another "miss" from Target this season

This dress had so much potential. But like all of Target’s dresses this season (it seems), this one also missed the mark. What I Love: the fabric (great weight and texture, felt very high quality), the sweetheart neckline, the lace detail. What I hated: As other reviewers stated, it is SO tight. I’m in between a medium and a large, depending on style. I am not big chested. (36A) (Larges are often too big in the chest for me. Mediums may fit in the chest but tight on my hips.) In this dress, I tried on the medium, and my god, I almost couldn’t get it off. Unlike other dresses with an elastic rouched back, this had ZERO stretch when putting it off or on. It was so strange because the back was stretchable by hand. The biggest issue beyond that was how low the back was. Even if I had a strapless bra on, you would see the band in the back. If I tried on a large, it wouldn’t been even worse. Also the thin horizontal strap across the back was weird and seemingly unnecessary.

Nice fabric and idea. Proportions seem to be off- only would fit the right shape, definitely not for all shapes. If you are more apple or rectangle shape, I would not go with this one.

Absolutely loved the print and the fabric was very nice the only reason why I gave a low rating was the fit is just not it. The neckline is SOOOO low and I don’t have a big chest but they were about to spill out but if I went a size higher the dress would be too big on me. The dress is cute, but the overall size runs small. Also if you’re on the bustier side you’ll spill out, the bust area isn’t as large as the photo show it’s a lot smaller. For reference I’m a 36D and it didn’t fit :(

Despite the negative reviews around fit, I ordered anyway. I’m 5’4 110 lbs and ordered the xs and it fits like a glove. But I totally see why people stated this dress needs a zipper. It absolutely does but I found sliding the dress up instead of over my head worked better. I’m also shaped like a french fry so I hope that helps. Good luck ladies

Gorgeous corset dress! I love the brown & white combo. The ladies are right regarding fit — it does run small. I typically wear XXS in Wild Fable dresses, and the XS of this A New Day dress fits as such… which worked in my favor. The corset hugs you in, doing its job. I had to put it on over my head, bc no way was it going on bottom-up. 32D and the girls were sat. Gloriously. Um… it has pockets. That feels monumental.
