[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am generally happy with it. The installation instructions should spell out the orientation of the washers for the cold water valve. I kept having a leak until I reversed the washer. The water is a little cloudy at first which I assume is very small air bubbles. It clears up quickly.

It’s worked great for several months now, and the water tastes amazing. The best part is the speed of the stream of water. It comes out fast and you don’t have to wait long to fill a large glass or bottle up like you would from your refrigerator water tap.

Water tastes great!
We previously used a clearly filtered pitcher before we had our kitchen redone. We got the under the sink unit for our new kitchen and we love it! Gives such peace of mind to have clean water and it tastes great!

I had to get 3 manifolds and the system did not work. I was unable to get a single glass of water. Unfortunayely I had to return it.

It has been about 3
It has been about 3 weeks since I installed this R O system. I previously had a G E Smart Water system. That one did not provide an adequate volume of water on a daily basis. This one is fine on that account. I use this water in the hydration pan on my wood stove. I like how little remains there are in the bottom, after water is evaporated. It is not however, completely clear. This system will not provide distilled water quality for battery use. It does appear to purify better than the G E unit did.

We love it! My son’s heavy metal hair test came back very high in uranium and aluminum which our pediatrician thinks is from our city water. Our pediatrician recommended AquaTru to help. It taste amazing and we are very pleased with it. It took my husband maybe an hour to it install under the sink.

Awful design - No real-world practical thought
Building this unit on a bench is easy. BUT - whoever designed this piece of garbage should (once they die) be forced to spend the rest of eternity, installing it under every sink in heaven and hell. We have smart people who go to university and they get degrees in engineering and design and then they come up with this… how is it possible? 1. The manual is ok - but a comment on making sure the tube is fully inserted - there should be a noticeable click when it goes in fully. That would have saved me a soaking. 2. Wherever possible the tubing should be factory installed to the various components. Every time you have a customer install a fitting there is a risk of a leak. The tube should be factory installed on the RO faucet. Trying to tighten the fitting and attach the tube when the threaded section of the faucet was under the sink between the sink and the back wall of the cabinet with a 4 inch gap was almost impossible. It was impossible to get a wrench in that spacer and tighten the 1” fitting. Houdini would have been proud of me. I am on my back with a head torch on, squeezing between the existing plumbing trying to wrap the PFT tape and get a good grip on a plastic fitting to tighten it and then insert the tubing and clip. Most well designed faucets come with the supply lines preinstalled for that very reason. I had another leak here because the fitting was not tight enough. The tubing should be factory installed on the faucet, the drain saddle, and the tank. That makes installation easier and faster and reduces the risk of leaks. Yes you need to have some longer lengths of tube on these fittings but that’s a small price to pay for the convenience of being able to simply connect up the tubes to the filter manifold. It is the filter manifold that is likely to be in the most accessible place so that’s where the actual connection work should take place. I have to say I do not have great confidence in the quality of the plastic fittings. I would prefer to see metal tubing and valves and the same compression fitting that is on the cold water adapter valve. I believe this would be more durable and reliable over the long term. The plastic push fittings with a plastic half clip seem to be very flimsy. I will be installing a water detector under my sink just in case. Finally… It takes two hours to fill the tank but there is no indicator that the tank is full. This seems to be a serious oversight. With different supply water pressures using a time based measure seems to be very approximate. Again bad design. The problem is that this unit was designed without consideration of the practical aspects of installing it. I have yet to see how well it works… It’s still filling up the tank. Hopefully this will be plain sailing from now on…

Different taste than countertop!
We have been using the countertop version for over 5 years and wanted a quicker solution to access filtered water. We had it professionally installed. So far the water tastes slightly different than the water from the classic countertop version, even after flushing the new filters and tank multiple times across 5 days. It also does not have any indicators about when the filters need to be replaced. The instructions only mention time or gallon usage, but there is no mention of how many gallons the tank holds and who is counting filled tanks anyhow when the unit is under the sink? timely filter replacement will be key, especially for sanitizing the tank (the “sanitizing solution” mentioned in the product description is bleach).

Replaced the counter filter
We have been using the classic countertop filter for about 4 years as renters and recently bought our first home. We used this a little bit but decided to treat ourselves to less work and this has saved us time in getting clean water. Tastes the same. We did need to do some plumbing trickery in our brand new home under the sink but it all worked out in the end.

Water Pressure Is Important
The filter is great but the instructions overlook the importance of water pressure. We had to purchase a booster pump to ensure the filter worked at its optimal pressure of closer to 60-80psi as opposed to the minimum of 40 psi. The entire things was installed before we learned from 3rd party tutorials that we required a booster pump. I wish Aquatru made this important element more clear for those purchasing the under sink model.

Great!
We have the under the sink model. It was easy to install, and it works great. We could immediately taste the difference in the water. I've been recommending it to everyone. My wife has noticed that her skin is healthier too.

Wish I purchased sooner
I’ve been wanting a reverse osmosis system for 10 years now. Came across AquaTru and all the raving reviews about the products. Our family of 6 have been drinking alkaline water from a local water store for years. Taking our 6, 5 gallon jugs to the store often to refill. Although it was a great price, the hassle of taking the time to commute 20 minutes to refill and when our kids don’t remind us and they take the last of the gallon was quite aggravating. Personally I don’t like clutter on the counter tops and having the sleek spout that disperses room temp water is perfection for me. Sometimes my kids like their water cold so we fill up a two gallon jug for that. Also now I cook with the water. Unfortunately the plumber installing cost more than the unit itself, if you are handy and can install this then it’s a no brainer to buy asap. So worth the investment (which is actually more affordable than others). if you are on the fence, I wish I did it sooner.

No directions
No instructions came with ours. Imagine my surprise when I read on the site that we need a professional to install it. Going to try to return it.
