The oatmeal grits are so good in quality. I don’t find white powdery stuff inside the can unlike the other brands.

McCanns (slow cooking) Oatmeal
The best oatmeal I have found - and much better than the “Quick Cooking” variety.

Perfect breakfast.
Excellent. Love this oatmeal. Worth the extra cooking time for a really healthy hearty breakfast. I add raisins and walnuts and maple syrup. 1/4 cup dry to 1 cup boiling water and simmer for twenty minutes before adding fruit, nuts and sweetener. Perfect breakfast.

Delicious flavor and texture
If you are willing to take the time involved to prepare it correctly, steel cut oats is far and away the best oatmeal there is. It's a bit "pricey" but unless you want to buy oat groats in bulk and "steel cut" your own, you can expect to pay more than for the highly processed kinds of oats.

Best steel cut oats!
I prefer the oats cut to this size. It never gets mushy if you follow the directions on the can. Wish I could buy this product in larger containers.

Great product - Shipped badly
Love the product - ordered four cans. However, every can received was dented - three dented so badly, the lids came off in the box.

McCann's Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal
I love this oatmeal, and it is so easy to prepare ahead of time. I just put 3 cups of water and 1 cup of McCann's Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal in a slow cooker on low for 3 hours. Once it is done and cooled, I store it in the refrigerator. That gives me a whole week or more of steel cut oat meal for breakfast. Every morning I just scoop out what I need into a bowl, put it in the microwave for about 45 seconds on high, then add some honey and sliced almonds - yum. Easy and very healthy breakfast.

Great for you!!!
It may take a little longer to cook than rolled oats, but it is worth it. They are rich in fiber, natural, and wonderful. I cook mine in milk, then I add flax seed in the last 15 minutes of cooking, and raisins in the last 5 minutes. When I take it off the stove, I sweeten it with honey or agave syrup. Wonderful!!
