Book Synopsis
A Little Spot Provides Big Fun!
This fun, thoughtful book provides kids ages 4-7 with 96-pages of relaxing, engaging activities designed to keep them thinking and creating all day long. Each spread showcases a different color representing one of the "spots" from Diane Alber's classic book series. While the activities themselves are sure to provide kids with hours of fun, the'll also gain insights into their feelings, the thoughts, and how to handle big emotions.
Each spread begins with an easy-to-read prompt on the left, with a related activity on the left that invites kids to doodle, draw, color, complete a picture, solve a maze or some other game. Enough room is provided throughout to let readers draw their own responses to prompts, inviting them to explore their own ideas and develop their own creative solutions. Prompts might include something like "Draw something scary and the person who makes you feel safe when you are scared," or "draw three things that make you happy. In other cases, the spread might present an unfinished illustration with the direction to complete the picture in a way that makes them feel happy or excited, such as "Finish this car and make it fast!" In every case, the goal is to encourage young readers to think about their feelings while exploring the limits of their creativity.
