A: I bought this recently off the recepient's baby registry. I assume it waterproof. Don't know if it has a material covering. Since it was bought for a new mother, I assume she would only choose to have a good, safe changing pad.

A: Good afternoon Taylor, It is not suggested to rinse off the Munchkin Secure Grip Waterproof Diaper Changing Pad in the shower as the changing pad has seams on the sides. To properly clean the changing pad, it is suggested to use a clean damped cloth to wipe down.

Practical
This pad is practical and there’s not much to dislike about it. I did in-store pickup and the one I got has some permanent indents on it, probably from being stacked. Other than that, it’s very easy to wipe clean, and the straps come with screws to secure it to your dresser if needed. All the warning labels are under the pad and not visible at all on mine, so I don’t know why some people received something different; however, a changing pad cover can add a nice touch. Overall, I recommend!

Rips
We received this pad as a shower gift. After six months of use and rarely moving the diaper changing pad, there are rips all along the sides of the changing pad! While the rips aren't currently a major issue (my daughter hasn't discovered them yet), it will be when she does or if she pees and ruins the now exposed padding. I generally love Munchkin products, but I would not recommend this item for purchase.

I am extremely disappointed with this item and let me tell you why. 1 - the “secure grips” on the bottom are just hard plastic pieces, they don’t grip or stick to any surface, I literally don’t understand what their purpose is. 2 - the front of the pad aka the side facing out to the room, has a huge, ugly, non removable orange warning label on it; and the back of the pad is where the secure straps are that you would attack to the back of the dresser. Notice in the photos they never show you the orange warning label, they only show you the back which is where the straps are. They purposely are misleading customers with these images. (The straps must be on the back of the dresser not on the front because if the pad were to accidentally flip up, you want the pad to flip up towards the wall in the direction of the straps.)

Great, long lasting change pas
I bought a more expensive change pad, but it didn't fit the table. Grabbed this one with low expectations. 26 months later we still use it daily, and I've got a baby on the way that will use it as well. It's perfect, squishy but firm. Easy to wipe clean (although I always have a cover on it), stayed true to it's shape. Win/win all round.
