Ben & Jerry's Cherry ice cream with cherries and fudge flakes. It's our tribute to guitarist Jerry Garcia and his fans everywhere, and it all started with a piece of fan mail.
You see, back in the day, before smartphones and social media, our fans spoke to us via handwritten notes pinned to the bulletin boards at our Scoop Shops. It was sometime in 1986 when one such fan was persistent enough to mail a postcard to our main office in Burlington, Vermont. Super premium ice cream meets great guitar solos? It was genius, and Ben immediately began creating the iconic concoction.
Cherry Garcia debuted in 1987 and quickly became one of our top three most popular flavors. In fact, the first eight ice cream pints went straight to Mr. Garcia himself and were met with two thumbs up. As for the fan who sent the anonymous postcard? Our sleuths found her and thanked her with a trip to Vermont and a year's supply of Ben & Jerry's ice cream.
It's been a long, strange trip ever since, but what remains is Ben & Jerry's commitment to producing the world's best frozen desserts in the most responsible way possible. Like all of our flavors, Cherry Garcia is made with non GMO sourced ingredients, cage free eggs, and Fairtrade certified cocoa, sugar, and vanilla. Responsibly sourced packaging gets the goodness from our Vermont factory to your freezer.

    Amazing product, and worth getting.

    This ice cream, Cherry Garcia from Ben&Jerrys is the best thing I’ve tasted. The portion sizes are amazing, sized with cherry chunks and sweet fudge flakes. The mouthfeel is is extremely smooth, and the aftertaste is pleasant with lingering cherry notes.

    Cherries and chocolate, oh my!!

    This is one of our favorite flavors of Ben and Jerry’s. We toured the factory in Vermont years ago, and have been in love ever since!! They still give you a full pint, unlike you know who ( HD) and it’s PACKED with all the good stuff! Thank you for giving us a simply delicious pleasure in life :-)

    SO GOOD

    This ice cream is so good! It's got pieces of cherries and dark chocolate in it and its abosolutely delicious an perfectly creamy. The cherry ice cream itself doesn't really taste much like cherry, but it makes finding bits of cherries in the ice cream that much more exciting. Seriously so good.

    Amazing taste and texture!

    My favorite! As soon as you take off the top of the pint the aroma wafts up to entice you ! The creamy vanilla mingles with the bits of cherry and chocolate in your mouth… incredible favor! What an incredible treat !

    Super yummy! The flavor is very good I love cherry so it’s made for me! If you don’t like cherry then maybe stay away. The texture is nice and not to much I am not a texture girl so I don’t really mind. Texture= ice cream and it’s not bitter at all it’s overall sweet!

    Pathetic for the money spent

    Just had a pint of this. There was absolutely no flavor to this ice cream. There were only 3 small chunks of cherries, about 10 chocolate chips, and the texture was very grainy. Ice cream was not smooth, as it should be. I do not recommend.

    One of my favorite flavors, I have absolutely nothing bad to say besides I wish I could buy more! It’s very sweet if that’s what you’re into. The pieces in the ice cream are so fresh tasting as well!
