Q: I bought this before but the box said non-drowsy. Does this cause drowsiness because the label doesn’t say so?

A: I got the regular one and not the pm one. It made me completely drowsy all day long and I felt sick after an hour after taking it. I have preexisting health issues so maybe it was just my body. My friend took this and it didn’t make her drowsy at all. It depends on the person.

Works well to suppress coughs
It contains dextromethorphan, so it works well to suppress coughs. I don't usually feel drowsy with non-drowsy medication and this wasn't an exception. I probably could use the store brand, but I like having the added confidence with this name brand medicine.

First time trying and will not try again
Unsure if the medicine is really helpful or not. I have a cough where there is some phlegm, not a lot. When I took it, it seemed to force me/helped cough up the phlegm. BUT it was a really rough 30 minutes or so of hard coughing and be sure to cough and spit it out; I was gagging and almost vomited a couple of times when I tried to suppress the coughing as to not wake up my newborn. After all that there seems to be a short time frame where I’m no longer coughing. Not worth the money spent on this. Tylenol severe flu in pill form also has cough suppressant and seemed useful but I stopped using it since I didn’t have a fever and did not want to take unneeded medication.
