Q: How do you reload new lead into the Pencil--I must be stupid

  • A: Just pull the top off and there is a hole. ( don’t pull the eraser ) just the top part of the pencil.

  • A: Hi, Tex! To refill the lead of Paper Mate Clearpoint Mechanical Pencil, unscrew the top of the barrel (colored part of the pencil) and insert the new lead. Screw the top portion of the barrel back. Click the pencil a few times to advance the lead.

Lead can be loaded through the back of the pencil by removing the clip. Simply pull out the clip (which holds the eraser) to add lead into the lead refill tube.

We are sorry to hear that you are having difficulty loading new lead into your pencil. To load the lead correctly, unscrew the top of the barrel (colored part of the pencil) and insert the new lead. If the pencil was previously used, you may also want to check that no broken piece of lead is stuck inside the tip, as this can prevent new lead from advancing.     Not Great

    I’ve had these for about a month now. The led keeps breaking and I don’t think the problem is with the led. I think it’s something with the way the mechanical pencil is made. What’s odd is that I bought a similar one like years ago and it was amazing and I still have it till this day. Below is a comparison between the one I had before (the grey one), and the new one (the pink one).

    Careful! Someone might steal it because its just that good.

    Genuinely the best pencil ever. Need i say more? The eraser is practically infinite between how long it is + replacements. No throwing out other perfectly good pencils with flat erasers. Super comfortable in my hand, so I dont get that sore spot on my finger after writing for a long time nearly as bad. The lead dispenser thing is at the side instead of the top, which is funner, fancier, and satisfies my need to never touch the eraser directly after I've used it with regular mechanical pencils.

    Great Mechanical Pencils

    My wife loves these pencils because they’re clear. More than that, they are easy to hold and write with. When you use these you will be amazed at how easily the eraser removes pencil writing from paper, cleanly and effectively. Easy to refill and maintain. While technically these are disposable there’s really to reason to as they last a long time. A thicker millimeter graphite is preferred.

    Great Value and a great pencil

    My favorite mechanical pencils. I love that the eraser is refillable too and you can control the height of how much of it is exposed just by twisting it. The .7mm is the best size as the skinnier lead snaps too easily. The grips are comfortable and they last a long time. The clips are the first thing to fail, but I don’t care because I enjoy the size of the barrel and the grips are comfortable. I always stock up on these for work whenever they go on sale and a pack like this is a great value.
