MorningStar Farms Frozen Veggie Breakfast Meatless Bacon Strips Original - 5.25oz

These bacon strips look like someone took a toddler kitchen playset, found the bacon that's a comical over exaggeration of what bacon looks like, and then turned it into something to eat. The coloring is cartoonish, the smell is so artificial... I get it's a replacement for bacon and can't be exact, but the presentation for this is so unappetizing. I've been vegetarian for years and this is probably the worst meat-fake I've come across. Also, I do also want to make sure to note that this is not vegan. Morningstar doesn't always make that clear.

It taste really good but it’s high in sodium for me. I won’t be buying the bacon anymore.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These tastes amazing. I have it for breakfast., lunch and dinner. It tastes really good in sandwiches. I highly recommend for people that are vegetarians. It cooks quickly. It is very crispy and flavor is amazing, not too salty .

The fact that this bacon smell and taste like pork bacon is amazing. I use this bacon for breakfast, making BLTs, top it on baked potatoes, and use them with the spicy black bean burger to make bacon cheeseburger. I love it so much

I had consumed this bacon product for many years, and may years ago. I have not purchased this in a very long time. I must say that out of all the vegetarian/vegan bacon products on the market, I like this the best for both taste and crispiness, etc. However, once I actually looked at the ingredients, which I do now on all of my purchases, I chose not to buy this until the ingredients are improved for health reasons. I know that the ingredients are FDA approved but that doesn't mean they are healthy to consume, especially over the long term. There is Red 40 and Blue dyes for starters. These could be replaced with natural foods for color purposes, as other companies do. Also, the list of additives is quite long, are they all "necessary"? Just because something is presented as "vegetarian/vegan" doesn't mean it is automatically healthy for consumption. Please upgrade to a healthier version for all of our benefit. It shouldn't take years to accomplish this. We all know that the FDA won't do anything to mandate this change, not only for this product but any others. It would need to be consumer driven. TY

I grew up a a vegetarian, and these have been a staple in my life for more than 40 years. They are delicious. Please keep making them! I prefer these over the new, thicker applewood flavored strips.

My family love this meat alternative to bacon. We have been enjoying them for years. I don’t think they have claimed to be purely plant based, but may be I wrong about this. But I have never expected them to be. But I always read the ingredients of everything I consume, just to make sure it is suitable for a vegetarian. The ingredients are stated on the packaging, so not misleading! Are great for vegetarians that include dairy in their diet. Great flavor, love mine cooked a little longer so it is crunchy. We love them in a ciabatta toasted breakfast sandwich, but also pair the vegetarian bacon with the morning star sausages, delicious, especially with a dash of Tabasco! Highly recommend!

It tastes better than regular bacon, it's not greasy, it's delicious, easy to make, and very affordable. I highly recommend it.

These are NOT plant-based!!!! Egg whites aren't plants. False advertising and they should be sued for this. We will never buy another morningstar product again.

These are great! I used to eat them all the time til my store claims they are no longer available, all they sell now are the ones with PEPPER, and I am allergic to PEPPER!

I would NOT recommend these to anyone who actually is looking for a healthy meat alternative. These contain dyes that are terrible for you. It makes me so sad that Morning Star won’t remove these and replace with something natural. I have gone to other brands.

Let me preface by saying we have been purchasing this product since the moment it hit grocery stores on day one. There is something that tastes off, especially when eaten with the red bits. The white part of the "bacon" tastes good, but not as good as they once were, but the red bits taste chemical, and have a bad aftertaste. We separated the white parts from the red and definitely tastes a difference immediately. We used to love this product, but now it is not something we will be buying in the future.

This is a great bacon alternative for those who are vegetarian , and I love putting it in breakfast sandwiches , and anything else . However do be careful when microwaving it , as the directed times can be misleading . My microwave may just be more powerful , but when I microwaved two strips for 1 minute and 30 seconds ( right between the lowest and highest recommended times ) I suddenly smelled smoke coming from the microwave , and when I opened it lots of smoke was coming off the bacon and there was blackness indicating burnt on the bacon and the plate . I suspect it may have caught on fire . I recommend starting at a smaller time like 40 seconds and working up as needed to avoid this if you have a more powerful microwave like I do .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is convenience and easy of preparation. It is easy to cook, you can fry it in a pan. The packaging is sleek and can be used by even kids needed a quick meal.

Of course this isn't just like the real stuff, but this satisfies my salt craving, without all of the sodium. They cook up just fine in the microwave, although keep near so you don't burn them. I could eat these as a snack or with breakfast, although they're climbing up there in price, so not as often as I'd like.
