    Synthetic dyes

Please stop using synthetic coloring. You switched from red 3 to red 40. You can easily use beet juice for color instead. My family used to love your bacon until we went synthetic dye free over a year ago. I was excited when red 3 was banned hoping we could eat this again. Red 40 is just as bad for you. Do better Morningstar.

This used to be one of my go-to’s for an easy breakfast. However, I recently realized there is Red 40 and I will not be purchasing again until they update the ingredients.

Thank you for your review. At Kellanova, food safety and quality are our highest priorities. Our ingredients and foods always have been and always will be compliant with federal regulations. We have heard consumer preferences and concerns about artificial colors. We've listened and taken action to remove artificial colors from many of our foods, and today 80% of our North American portfolio is free of artificial colors. Our work to remove artificial colors from our foods is ongoing. We are actively working to find alternative ingredients that deliver the taste and texture our consumers expect. In line with the measures announced by the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) and FDA, we will continue to work with supply chain partners to transition the remaining U.S. portfolio to colors from natural sources.

Plant based apparently does not equal vegan

I bought this thinking it was vegan. When something says plant-based, I assume it’s made from plants. Thank goodness I read the ingredients label before I ate it. That is on me, I should have read the ingredients list prior to purchasing it. I just feel that it’s misleading to call it plant based.

I have bought this product for years and it's been delicious. Just bought it this weekend and the strips are wide less white parts which is still fine but when cooked it didn't get crispy unless it was burnt and it doesn't have much flavor at all. I won't be repurchasing this product. Shame after years of enjoying this product that they had to ruin it.

Plant based? That’s a lie! These contain eggs and milk. What part of that is plant based? Yikes that’s very misleading and dangerous for someone with allergies.

Thank you for your review. This is a plant-based meat alternative that contains eggs and milk as listed on our label. The term plant-based is used to differentiate our products from meat-based products. If you are looking for vegan options, please consider one of our vegan MorningStar Farms® products.

Stop calling it veggie bacon when there's egg whites in it. Remove the caramel color and red 3 from your products, red 3 is now banned. And first ingredient is soy oil. You're going to have to start putting some thought and effort into your ingredients instead of just producing junk. I won't buy again. And I probably won't buy morningstar products again until they stop using unhealthy ingredients and marketing it as healthier choice.

Dyes and Artificial Flavors? Not for Me

I bought these to introduce more plant-based foods into my diet as substitutes for meat. The taste/texture were 'ok' but something I could get used to over time. After eating them twice, my friend Iooked more closely at the ingredient list and saw that dyes and artifical flavors were added. I threw them away. There is no healthy recipe that includes chemical dyes or additives. Very disappointed.
