Heroic Tale about a female fish
In some ways, we all could benefit from a gal giving us a smooch when we are not happy. This book is a heroic tale about a female fish who comes along and does just that for Mr Pout Pout fish. If you want your kids running around kissing other people who are angry or sad, this might be for you. It's a good book for Mom and Dad to read together to their newborns to a year or two old. Enjoy

Consent Issue
Decided to return due to the confusing message about consent with kissing/touching. For everyone that disagrees, there has been enough of an issue with the message of the book that the author put a message on the first page about how important consent is and that in real life you should ask people before you kiss them. Aspects of the book are cute, but with so many fun baby books out there, I’d rather not have one with a potentially confusing message.

A hit with both my kids
This is one of the books that both my children have absolutely loved. The illustrations are adorable and the storyline is easy to follow even for an easily side tracked toddler. It’s a cute story as well. I definitely suggest getting this if you’re a parent or gifting it if you’re going to a baby shower!

Ew, don't kiss me!
The quality of the book is good, but the message is not. The book sends a message saying it is okay to kiss people without consent. The pout pout fish gets kissed, and he is no longer pouty. Then he goes around kissing all of his friends. We will be donating this book because we don’t want to teach our child it is okay to touch/kiss people without asking first.

Cute, but not a good story if you're teaching your kid to not kiss others
Very cute book with a sweet message about being more than what others assume you are just by looking at you. However, if you're trying to teach your kid to not kiss their friends or random strangers (especially during flu and RSV season), I would not recommend this book in the Pout Pout Fish series. If that is not a lesson you're trying to impart, then I recommend it for the cute story and nice illustrations. Sadly, we're returning it. The quality of the board book is great!

My 1.5-year-old adores this book! There is a message from the author in the beginning about the importance of consent before kissing someone, which is appreciated. My child just likes being showered with kisses when the Pout-Pout Fish becomes a Kiss-Kiss Fish, making it a fun read for our family!
