The Effaclar Medicated Gel cleanser from La Roche-Posay is incredibly versatile and works well for oil , acne -prone skin, and combination skin . It effectively removes excess oil , dirt and impurities without over-stripping the skin. In terms of tolerance my skin handled it very well no irritation, burning or excessive dryness, which is impressive for a medicated cleanser with salicylic acid . The quantity is generous and a small amount goes a long way , making the bottle last for months. I also love that it leaves little to no residue my skin feels clean , smooth and refreshed , never tight or sticky. The packaging is practical and hygienic with a secure pump that dispenses the right amount and makes it easy to use daily.

Made with 2% salicylic acid, this oil-free, fragrance free cleanser helps unclog pores and reduce breakouts. Use twice daily (AM &PM) for best results, clearer skin can be seen in 2-4 weeks. Mild scent, but slightly drying, so moisturize after.

Tried a mini sample first and was genuinely surprised how nice it lathered and made my skin feel afterwards. It doesnt have a strong scent and a little goes a long way. I haven't noticed any dryness or flaking but I am more prone to oily skin. The only downside is this has turned some of my acne blemishes (closed comedones) into a more stubborn form of hormonal acne vs the quick throw a pimple patch on and its gone. But everyone's skin is different. I like how clean this makes my skin feel so I'll be continuing it.

This product has menthol for some reason, which really irritated my eyes, when when keeping the wash away from my eyes. It also seems to have irritated my skin / initiated a breakout.
