  • A: I don't think this is gluten free with the oats. I've been using this on my face the last couple of days, not realizing it contained oats and I'm have cross contamination symptoms.

    Not acne friendly

    Made both me and my husband break out like crazy. I am acne prone but have had it managed for years until i started using this. Stopped using it and went back to cetaphil and the acne resolved

    This cleanser made my eyelids flaky and dry and cause three dry patches on my cheeks. I didn’t think that this product was the cause because I had used it for years without issues. So, I soldiered on, using other creams and even another prequel product to treat the dry patches. My next stop would have been the dermatologist, but when I went to order another bottle and saw all the bad reviews here and realized that this product might be the problem. Once I stopped using it my symptoms went away almost immediately. I’m so glad to have my skin back.

    Skip this if you're even a little worried about breakouts

    Clogged pores and caused breakouts. The consistency is interesting, it's more like a gel than it is a cleanser. It does leave your skin feeling hydrated, which is the only reason I'm offering two stars. I think the consistency of the cleanser and/or the ingredients likely clog pores for anyone with sensitive or acne prone skin. I've seen others mention this, but tried it anyways.

    bad bad bad

    i had high hopes for this to be a good gentle daily cleanser that also still helped with acne and preventing breakouts. unfortunately it did the opposite it made my skin that was already recovering and almost healed from its last breakout, 5x worse than it was before. i have all these new little bumps/clogged pores that don’t pop, a few new pimples, and even some underground pimples. my skin sometimes has sensitivity to harsh products or unusual ingredients, but never like this before and its pretty rare when i do have a reaction like this to a cleanser. I also was only using the cleanser with moisturizer for the last few days I tried it and it still progressively got worse.

    Not for my skin type!

    Is a great cleanser but is not for all skin type it feels like a jelly and leaves the skin feeling very hydrated. I said is not for me because I have oily combo skin it felt like I didn't rinse the cleanser off and I don't like that feeling.

    Interesting texture

    What a Game Changer

    I have been going through cancer treatments off and on for two years. My skin took most of the beating and would change over night. One day my cleanser would fine but not great then would develop a buildup or a rash and turn reddish. It definitely needed to recover with a consistent regimen. At the time I came across Prequel it was at its worst a rash was rapidly spreading all over my neck, down my back and it was approaching my face. I took a chance on Prequel and ordered. Within days my skin cleared up and the PH balanced had returned to my skin after 2 years. I now have a wonderful glow that people have noticed.

    Game Changer

    This cleanser is superior to any product I have ever tried. I was doubtful that I could use the same cleanser on my face and my body. I was afraid it wouldn’t be delicate enough for my somewhat sensitive skin. I was so pleased with the results.

    Such a large bottle!

    I bought the Gleanser. It's very gelly and suds up amost too much. I have to rinse a lot to get all the suds to wash away. I try to use very little, but even then, there are so many suds! It'll take me a couple of years before this large bottle is gone. I'd recommend selling in smaller bottles not just because it will last a long time but I can't take this anywhere. I know, you have a travel size, but I don't want to buy two products just for travel.

    Formula Change???

    I have been using this cleanser for years but I just repurchased a new bottle in June and the formula is different. It has an odd bleach smell and is causing me to break out so badly. Highly disappointed.

    The BEST non-stripping cleanser ever!

    I have searched for years for a cleanser that didn't strip my skin, didn't make me feel dry and tight and that I enjoyed using. Gleanser is it! My search is over. I love this cleanser so much. It foams softly, but feels so deeply hydrating and cleans my face well. Plus, the bottle is huge! I use it on my face, neck, chest and arms and hands. I love the amount of glycerin in this! Quick note in case others had the same issue: My bottle arrived with the push top snapped off of the bottle and cracked so I could not get it back on, but none of the product was spilled. I just went out to the store and bought a glass bottle and transferred as much as I could get out into the new bottle. Not a huge deal, I love this cleanser so much I will be buying again!
