You just assemble, decorate, water and watch it grow! It’s a fun way to teach kids about science, botany eco-systems and the life cycle of plants.   • A: My daughters planted the seeds provided in the kit. They do not sprout actual flowers but more like a petit grass/ground cover. We did not transplant as there was really no reason to.

Q: Does it mold? How can I prevent it from molding?

  • A: If overwatered or humid, you may get fuzzy growth appear. Remove lid and let the garden dry a bit - air circulation helps. Only water the surface till moist - not wet - when the soil is dry.

  • A: The kit is designed for chia seed. Due to the small container size, we would not recommend planting flower seeds or bulbs.

Q: I have one but it is dying. How do you replant it?

  • A: Yes, over time your garden will need to be replanted. You can use left over materials that you may have from the kit or purchase new soil and seeds from your local garden center. You will basically take the materials out of the jar and rework the project.

It says they will sprout in 3-5 days- which is great for kids! It is very easy to do. My 7 year old was able to do it with very little to no help ( I only opened the bags). Over all it was a fun activity and I love that it came with a science page to turn it into a fun science experiment!!

I did find one misprint in our instructions and I do feel like the amount of water needed for the soil should have been specified but for the most part, the instructions were pretty simple & clear. We also didn’t receive but one color of the glow sand, the box advertised two different colors. 🤷🏽‍♀️After about 4 days, we noticed sprouting. We saved seeds to possibly try this again.

The materials came in easy to use bags, and the instructions explained every step clearly, especially for kids (leading to a successful project!) I really like that they included tips to not “overload” the seeds in certain areas. My son and I had a lot of fun doing this together, and he’s been loving being able to monitor and mist the jar! After 2 days, we could clearly see the seeds sprouting. I’m excited to keep adding seeds as this flourishes. We loved every part of this, including adding the sticker detail at the end!

My son has autism and its hard to keep his attention but he was focused the whole time we were putting this together! He loved to pour in the different sand and soil in the different layers and put in the little figurines! He waters it every night before bed and the seeds are growing! It took 4 days but they are growing as you can see in the picture! The soil is full of fools gold so it looks so pretty in the light, the stickers really glow bright! I tried to upload a picture of the stickers glowing but it wouldn't allow me to. 10/10 I would recommend to any kid, with or without disabilities. Planting the seeds and seeing plants grow so quickly is really fun for a kid to watch. Teaches them responsibility as well as cause and effect. Plus, look how cute! Its just a little jar so it fits on his little shelf in his room. It doesn't get a whole lot of light but the plants are still growing and it came with so many seeds! They will be growing for a long time!

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The grow and glow capybara terrarium kit was a fantastic, screen free activity that was easy to navigate and assemble with my child. The bright colors and fun stickers made it immediately eye-catching, and kept my 5-year-old completely engaged throughout the process. My little boy was so excited to have a Hands-On project where he could actually watch his plants grow. The only downfall was that it eventually started to grow mold, which was a bit disappointing.

It’s a fun activity and easy for kids to follow along as long as they read the proper instructions ( I might have followed the diagram and not the instructions at first but that’s on me). I also really like that there is no need for sunlight and growth still happens without it. It took about 3-4 days of watering to see little sprouts pop up. It’s important to remember to water it each day especially when it’s first starting to grow. It’s a fun little activity!
