Q: I see people complaining that this shrinks. I'm wondering if that could be avoided if you just washed it and then hung it back up. I'd think putting it in the dryer would make it shrink. Or does it shrink from just washing it?

submitted by GrandamaSally - 6 years ago

  • A: Hi GrandamaSally - Great question! We recommend to machine wash & tumble dry this item based on the product's recommendations. The product is 100% cotton though, so it has the potential to shrink a little in the dryer. If you prefer, you could certainly hang it up to dry to be on the safe side. Have a great day! - Douglas

  • A: Mine shrunk going to return

submitted byAustin Tx - 10 months ago

  • A: Mine shrunk about 5 inches! I just washed itfor the first time. I wash it in cold water and on the gentle cycle. I hung it up to air dry. I was surprised how much it shrunk.

submitted byKristen - 4 years ago

  • A: Mine shrunk 6 inches after washing and I never even put it in the dryer!

submitted bydesign lady - 5 years ago

  • A: I really love this shower curtain and have purchased it three times: even when hand washed in cold water with delicate detergent and hung to dry indoors, it shrinks between 4 and 6 inches.

submitted byLivi - 2 years ago

  • A: Everyone said it shrunk in cold water, hang dry and yet Target's answer was to maching wash and tumble dry; and if you prefer hang dry. Mine also shrunk after hanging dry by at least 6 inches.

submitted byHelen of Troy 201 - 3 years ago

  • A: Mine shrunk at least 5 to 6 inches, maybe more, the first time I washed it. It was washed in cold water and re-hung it to air dry.

submitted byJennifer - 4 years ago

  • A: I love this curtain but mine shrunk almost 8 inches. I did machine wash and dry it but was shocked to see how short it was after hanging it up again.

Q: Does this shower curtain require a liner? If not, would a liner help prevent mold?

submitted by Lisa - 8 years ago

  • A: I have used cotton shower curtains w/o a liner for years & never had any issues. Just made sure the shower is angled toward U, not the curtain & after shower, leave the closedcurtain in the tub to dry

submitted byTherapygirl - 4 years ago

  • A: Hi Lisa - This shower curtain makes me want to stop and smell all the flowers. It is suggested to use a liner with the curtain as it is 100% cotton. Thanks for asking. –Terra

Q: Is this weighted and are there suction cups on the side?

submitted by melissa - 8 years ago

  • A: This is a curtain and not a liner. Liner would have magnets or would be otherwise bottom weighed but a curtain won't

    That rust color, though....

The design is pretty at first... but the "rust" color looks like a dried blood smear. It's just not a good color for a bathroom (or anywhere, really).

it shrinks as badly as people say: washed on warm and I even line dried, it's still much shorter than it was and looks bad. I love it so much I'm. buying it again though! Maybe will try washing it on cold....

I was disappointed when I picked this up and found all the gray in the design where I thought there would be green. Why would you have beautifu oranges, pinks and yellows for the flowers but gray for the foliage? What foliage is gray?

    Beware of washing!

This was a wonderful shower curtain until I had to wash it. I washed per manufacturer instructions, machine wash, tumble dry low, and it shrunk so badly. Probably close to 8”! Now it looks horrible and I need to purchase a new one.

    It will shrink

I made the mistake of washing/drying it and the length of it shrank about 6 inches. It's shorter than my liner. I feel like I just wasted $25. Otherwise, it's pretty.

    Ages Well!

I've had this for years, maybe 4 years. it has held up well, still looks good, we have the convenience of how high or low the shower rod can go so there isn't a concern about length. no shrinking issues.
