The Melissa & Doug Deluxe Art Easel makes any room into an art studio! Our double-sided, kid-sized art easel includes a dry-erase board, chalkboard, locking paper-roll holder (fits either an 18" or 12" wide paper roll), child-safe paper cutter, four easy-grip clips, and a plastic tray to attach to each side of the easel.
It's easy to assemble, so there's little time waiting for the next masterpiece! Children's easels are recommended for building fine motor skills and proper pencil grip -- it's great for beginning writers! The easel is adorable and a relatively good value for the price, but assembly was more frustrating than expected. The biggest disappointment is the dry-erase board — it stains terribly, even after the very first use, and that’s with brand new Expo markers. Cute overall, but the quality of the marker board could definitely be better.

Two defective easels
I have ordered two of these easels believing they would be good products. I am now returning my second easel and both had defective parts but two different problems. I don't know who is making these but they are not a good product unfortunately.

Did easel
I purchased the easel and it was so difficult. The holes did not line up. We had to drill them! There was a screw missing. The whiteboard marker wouldn’t wipe off, it remains there to this day.

Disappointed Customer
I paid $80 for this easel and the measurements are off. This is not okay!!! I am highly disappointed. I get to the end of putting this easel together and now the bottom half of the white board has to hang off.

Not manufactured correctly impossible to assemble.
The holes are punched wrong and uneven. They do not line up with where they are supposed to be screwed in and due to manufacturing error it is impossible to put together. Do not waste your time but especially if you are a parent like me with very limited time and money do not waste the hour I did trying to put it together just to find out it was not made correctly.

This item is a disaster to assemble. Screws missing , holes do NOT align , item chipped . Not up to usual high standards typical of Melissa and David products. I would not purchase this item again and therefore do NOT recommend it . Huge disappointment !

A quality hit with grandkids
The art easel was great! It was good quality and the grandkids loved it, as soon as it was put together. The only drawback was that the easel involved quite a bit of assembly, and the assembly instructions were a bit unclear and confusing. Assembly took an hour and a half, because the instructions were often confusing.

For being Melissa and Doug, these wood pieces were very poor quality. Some pieces didn’t even fully have a hole NEEDED to build it! Might as well go with a cheaper, off brand.

Horrible instructions. Someone else mentioned tienes the 2 bolts that do not fit and same issue here. 2 darn bolts are not long enough for the middle piece where you put the roll of paper. This whole thing was so complicated and it’s been 2 days and 2 people and it was easier to built his yard swing.

Terrible product. Dont waste your money.
I generally like Melissa and Doug products which is why I chose this easel over other options. The quality is AWFUL. The legs are drilled upside down, meaning it doesn’t sit flat on the floor because the angled edge is to the top. The bolts are incorrectly sized for more than one area. Truly disappointed as I sit here on Christmas Eve assembling for tomorrow. Do not buy it.

Functions but...
The easel functions, and that is the positive. In building it, we weren’t able to install the second tray because we ran out of the shorter screws, and the bolts that we did have to use for it were not able to be used - they did not allow for tightening all the way (in stark comparison to the others). I’d recommend M&D send a few extra screws/bolts with these kits in the event of the situation we ran into. The wood is also untreated and rough, so beware of splinters.
