Has worked well
I have had this for a few months now and it has worked well. I was worried because some other reviews say it failed quickly. But I have a very active one-year old and this has kept him contained so far. It is simple enough that my 4 year old can unlock it to get out of the room as she needs, but it will keep the one year old contained for a while. Was perfect for a larger than average arched entryway. Note that I don't use this near stairs--it doesn't screw into the wall.

Worked great to begin with, now the red to green feature to show gate is closed properly has stopped working.

Just one hitch
Went on vacation. House sitter wasn't bright enough to remember the 2-step release trigger. Forced the plastic release without using trigger lock first. Broke the plastic release. Impossible to repair. Need to buy new release mechanism. For sale? No?

Not for long-term use
Bought this just a little over a year ago. Like the other review, the latches on our gate were also getting harder and harder to open, until it was impossible. I unscrewed the locking mechanism and discovered that a piece of the latch had snapped off and was blocking the other latch from moving into place. This wasn't a cheap gate but the pieces seem to be made with cheap material. Very disappointed.

I have been buying baby gates for 25 years. This is the best
I am a mother and now grandmother. I have bought many gates over the years, but none measures up to this one! It is super easy to install. It is long enough for extended areas. We had a oversized doorway, with three steps that extended the length of doorway, leading down to our den. This handled the whole area, it was sturdy and had a door that was easily opened with one hand. You know how important that can be! With so many other gates being flimsy, not long enough or just plain clumsy, I can tell you that this design was heaven sent! I would recommend Safety First gates over any other on the market! Oh, and very well priced for the value! I would have offered money to be able to use this product! Thank you Safety First!

This gate is impossible to open
I don't know if we got a defective latch or if the gate is designed this way but the latch is so stiff my 11 year old cannot manage it. We are going to replace it because it is too hard to squeeze open.

Horrible
I have replaced the mounting screws and they are still digging holes in my walls. The screws have a rubber shoe on them to "protect' your walls, but the screws poke through them in a matter of weeks. Then they tear up my walls. If I could get my money back I would. The screws ruin the whole gate. Guess that is what happens when you buy something on line. You can't inspect the gate for design flaws. This gate has done several hundred dollars worth of damage to my walls.

Easy to use and install!
Smarty pants can figure out how to open! Would love for there to be an option with a little dog door ;)

Everyday Use
Great for high traffic areas as door is easy to open (adult) as it's a two button pinch latch. Auto close feature is great and reliable.

Very disappointed
I drove an hour and a half to purchase this baby gate. The next day I take it out to install it and the door is bent. Not built right at all. Very disappointed that now I have to drive back and get a new one.

Great Gate!
Love the extra height and width that this gate provides. Not only does it keep our mobile 1 year old safe, but it also keeps my dog from jumping over the fence and getting into restricted areas of my house.

Not properly aligned— can't latch!
Fresh out of the box, noticed the latch wasn't connected. Figured it would come together as we assembled and installed. nope. A solid inch and a half gap, no matter how much strength we used to try and force it together. What good is a gate that doesn't close?!!! Also got confused as to why the extensions don't click into place or anything; not a very secure connection.

The name says it all!
I love the added height, easy to install setup, and best of all the fact that we didn't have to put any holes in the wall! The locking mechanism is easy enough for an adult to manipulate with one hand, but strong/complicated enough to keep curious (tall) toddlers contained!

Dont buy!
Worked well for about a month and now it gets stuck all the time to open and close. I have to buy another gate to replace this one to keep my 10month old from getting into the kitchen. Don't waste your money on this gate.

Latch is impossible!
Easy to install and durable, However…. After 2-3 months of use, we are unable to use this door anymore because it causes such hand strength to unlatch! It hurts! We just walk around the baby gate.

Pressure bumpers are poorly designed.
The gate latch became stiff and difficult to operate after a couple of months. The screw in the pressure bumpers pokes through the pad when tightened, very poor design. The screws should have a head the size of the pad to equalize the pressure over the face of the pad.

Defective Gate with Missing Parts
This gate arrived defective with a 2 inch gap in the latch section that made it impossible for the gate to close no matter how much force I used. There were also missing parts so I couldn't even put the entire gate together. Complete useless and a waste of money.

Sleek, easy to install!
We have a super awkward space that leads to our laundry room and couldn't find a gate that fit the space and was actually sturdy. This one is super minimal and not bulky, I don't even notice it anymore. I also love that it uses tension and we didn't need to drill into our walls.

Latch stopped working
We bought 2 of these gates. After a couple of days, we cannot depress the bottom button to unlatch one of the gates. Really GOOD gate with really BAD latch mechanism... Plastic lock parts on a metal gate???
