Great base sauce, but unreliable freshness

This sauce is not bad on it's own, but it works best as a starting base. Once you add your own fresh butter and cream, it really shines and tastes great. Unfortunately, like other reviewers, I also occasionally run into issues with new, sealed jars containing mold. It only happened once out of maybe the 10 times I've bought this product, and it unfortunately has caused me to open the jar immediately after my shopping trip in case I have to go back in and return it. Ultimately while I do like this sauce, I've had to switch to other brands due to the unreliability in the freshness of the product.

Such an easy meal prep staple. I mix it together with chickpeas and add some garlic and paprika, and serve/prep over rice. I do agree with some of the comments that adding cream/butter would make it creamier, but overall not bad. 1 can of chickpeas mized wiht about half the jar of sauce seems to be a good ratio.
