Doesn't last.
Lasted for only a couple of years. Transformer heats up and splits the casing enclosing the electrical parts. Found the guts of the transformer lying on the ground after the case split in two.

Purchased this transformer with photocell. Perfect power match for our 17” pagoda style outdoor pathway landscape lights also purchased from Lamps Plus. They give a warm glow at night and are adaptable to dusk to dawn. Great product. Great company to do business with. We thoroughly enjoyed speaking with Arios who was knowledgeable of his products. first one rusted through
this is the second one I had to purchase. the first one rusted through and failed after a few years even though it is outdoor rated and it was supported off the ground.

Lasted almost 3 years, the timer switch needs a waterproof cover
Purchased 5/3/17 - Had been very reliable until it failed - realized the timer switch on the back is just a cut out hole in the box. Even though it says it's suitable for outdoor use, it needs a dab of silicone or something over the switch to keep the rain from corroding the circuit board inside.

Our photo cell quit. This was so simple. It is generic, if you will, so it can be used with different systems. Just needed to hook it up and has worked perfectly dusk to dawn ever since. Thanks you Lamps Plus for selling this and too for having it in stock,

good basic power unit
When it comes to basic outdoor landscape power units this one is good for the price. The EI core transformer consumes a bit more energy and is hotter than torrid cores, but all-in-all a good unit. I have used just over 150 of these over the last 5 years
