Inside the barrel drum of the Hot Wheels Color Reveal 2-Pack are two 1:64 scale Hot Wheels cars covered in special Color Reveal coating. For the initial reveal, fill the drum with water and swirl each car in it until the water changes color, then pull the car out to reveal its sweet deco. To change its appearance again, fill the drum with icy cold water and dunk it in for yet another awesome transformation! Change it back by dunking it in very warm water. Alternate between icy cold or very warm water to repeat the color shift. The barrel drum doubles as a Hot Wheels dunk tank, and it's also perfect for storage! After that it was easy for my kids to switch the colors back and forth. Much easier with warm water and ice cold water, safer for the kids than hotter water. Works as advertised and kept the kids occupied for a couple of hours easily off and on.

After that, the car changes colors based on if it's been put in hot water or cold water. It's fun to have the initial excitement of not knowing what cars you got, and then fun to have the cars change color.

They fit well with our other sets and are a lot of fun. Would have given higher stars but the colors we received were yellow and orange but kind of just go to a brown color when they’re room temperature. Which. Is fine but just not as fun as our other cars.

When we opened the package, they were painted all blue, but once you dunk them in water, the blue paint washes away to reveal the car you received. It seemed the warm water was easier to get the paint off. Make sure you have a towel though as the water will turn blue and may stain if spilled. My son then loved playing with warm and cold water to change the cars colors. Highly recommend!

The hot is basically the standard room temperature color. The cold was fun for him because he would put 1 car in the freezer & 1 in the water to see which changed faster. They are also super durable. The melting color gets on everything and can stain. It also takes time for the melting color to fully removed from the car. I definitely recommend this for six year olds and up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 2 pack of Color Shifters Color Reveal cars is a great addition to my child's Color Shifter car wash playset. Great vehicles and bright colors. He enjoys these type of vehicles immensely. Only thing against it is the charcoal mystery coating over the actual vehicles. It is meant to hide the color of the vehicle. You must rinse this off first and it is a bit slimy and not something you would want your child to do on the carpet or near any fabrics. The mystery was in the sealed package, then inside little plastic bags that were clear. Maybe just use black bags instead?

You are supposed to use ice water or warm water to change them but my son just liked throwing the cars in the fridge. haha. It's super fun and they stay changed in color for a while and they had hidden designs in the color change too so that is super fun. The only problem is that they come painted and you have to dunk them in water to "Reveal" the car". That's fun but the paint gets in all the knooks and crannies of the car and is so hard to get out. I end up having to scrub them in the sink cause I don't want the paint coming off on the carpet while he's playing. This is a one time problem though and he did enjoy watching them "Reveal" the first time. Just not as fun for me.

He did note that some of the blue coating took a little longer to come off from the corners and edges, however he did get it all off. He liked that they change color very nicely with extreme temperature changes. This came with 2 different cars both of different colors.

The package came with 2 cars that were originally covered in black but once they were placed in water the black came off and revealed new colors. You can alternate between hot and cold water to change the color of the car providing endless amounts of fun. When the original pain comes off, it is messy so I would recommend using outside at first.

These are pretty cool. They do reveal a unique car decal after a lot of dunking in hot and cold water (my kids use their Ultra Shark car wash). Once revealed, the decal continues to change colors when dunked in hot water and cold water. These were messy but fun. Be prepared to have quite a bit of clean up.
