Description

Philips Avent Glass Natural bottle with the Natural Response nipple lets baby control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipples' unique opening and tip only releases milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm, just like they do when breastfeeding. Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple with a soft feel that mimics the shape and feel of a breast; plus baby controlling the flow of milk like they do when breastfeeding. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby's tummy. The ergonomic shape makes it comfortable for parents to hold. Assembly is simple with only a few parts and the wide bottle neck makes filling and cleaning easy. This Natural Philips Avent bottle is made of premium quality borosilicate glass, a BPA free material. It is heat and thermal shock resistant, so it can be safely stored in the fridge, warmed and is easy to wash and sterilize. The Natural response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby's growth. We recommend using the Philips Avent Natural baby bottle with Philips Avent Natural bottle nipples. Includes: 1 8oz Glass Natural bottle with Natural Response nipple flow 3. SCY913/01

What to expect when introducing the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple:

-It's totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new bottle. Unlike traditional bottles the Natural bottle is designed to only release milk when your baby is actively drinking, like what happens when babies breastfeed.

We have 5 different nipple flow rates for the Natural bottle. When looking for the right nipple flow rate, age is a guide, but your baby's approach to drinking and the feeding cues they will show will help determine when to move to a higher or lower nipple flow rate.

Packaging uses 100% plastic alternative, FSC-certified paper, with great potential to be widely circular for majority of product packaging.

Q: Are these glass bottles microwave safe, if we would like to warm the milk in the bottle directly?

submitted by DC - 4 years ago
  • A: Hello! The Philips Avent Glass Bottles are microwave safe. However, we do not recommend using a microwave to warm up baby's food or drinks. Microwaves might alter the quality of food/drinks and destroy some valuable nutrients. Microwaves do not heat evenly and they might leave "hot spots" which could scald your baby. When heating up your Philips Avent bottle in the microwave, please only place the container without screw ring, AirFree vent, nipple and cap. Always stir heated content to ensure even heat distribution and check the temperature before serving.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I have been using the Philips Avent Glass Natural 8 oz bottle for a few weeks now after receiving it from Stellar Product Testing Panel, and it’s easily one of the best we’ve tried. First off, it looks and feels super high-end — the glass is thick, sturdy, and has a nice weight to it (not too heavy though). You can just tell it’s well-made, and something about the glass just makes me love the slick look as well! It holds up great to heat — we’ve warmed it, sterilized it, run it through the dishwasher — and it still looks brand new. No weird smells or warping like some plastic bottles we’ve used before. It feels really safe using it daily! The nipple is soft and shaped really naturally, and our baby was able to pace himself with the flow — no choking or spilling. For now, the flow rate is just right, but it’s nice knowing we can switch to a faster one later. What we love most is that it’s very easy to clean, feels totally safe, and works great for both breast and bottle feeding. If you’re looking for a high-quality glass bottle that’s safe and baby-friendly, this one’s a win, and baby approved!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Phillips Avent Glass Natural Baby Bottle to test as part of the Stellar Review Panel. My favorite thing about the bottles is that they’re glass. We definitely wanted ti stay away from all plastic bottles when feeding our baby, even the ones that say “BPA free” because these known compounds are being replaced by others that can be even more harmful. Glass is safe and non-porous and that was the most important thing for us. It is a sturdy glass and didn’t break even after being dropped from a few feet multiple times onto LVP. I like that the bottle is contoured because it makes it easy to hold. The bottle has a good weight to it but it wasn’t too heavy for my 8 month old baby to hold herself. It stood up well to cleaning, warming and sterilizing. None of the volume markings looked like they were fading and it was easy to read how full it was in ounces and in milliliters. We also received the Avent Natural Response Nipples to test with the bottle and my baby did well with the combo even as a mostly breastfed baby. The collar of the bottle is a wide base so it can be used with other wide base nipples if needed, which increases the versatility of the product. Overall, we loved the Phillips Avent Glass Natural Baby Bottle and will continue to use it when our baby needs to be bottle fed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We thoroughly enjoyed testing the Philips Avent Glass Natural Baby Bottle, as part of the Stellar product testing panel! The glass bottle was made incredibly well, leading the bottle to be visibly durable. My baby was really able to grasp on to the bottle without any slipping. It also seemed to hold its warmer temperature better than your average plastic bottle. I was much more likely to use the bottle around the house, because traveling with them makes it a little more tricky. You just have to make sure they are secure inside a diaper bag so they are not at risk for breaking. Some mothers carry bottles in the front or side pockets depending on the insulated pockets, but I didn’t feel it would be a secure enough option for the glass. The first bottle I received did have a crack in it, because it wasn’t secure enough during transit. Other than that I thought it was a great bottle choice. It’s definitely a little heavier than plastic, however that goes hand and hand with the durability of the product! I would definitely reccomend it to a friend.

    Leaky Mess

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love that this bottle is a glass option as we avoid plastic baby bottles. The markings are clear and easy to read and the glass is thick and durable. It doesn’t feel like that thin glass that shatters so easily. The first con for us is the cap cover as it can be pretty hard to snap or twist off. The grandparents who watches our baby during the day had a very difficult time getting it off. The biggest con is the leaking! So this didn’t happen every time but when it did it leaked so much and caused such a mess on everyone. If you’re a pumping mom then you know the pain you feel when even the slightest amount of breastmilk goes to waste! It seems to leak because the collar isn’t screwed on correctly but it can be hard to tell as it looks even and tight. Sometimes I’ll keep unscrewing it and screwing it back on and it’ll still leak and it can be so frustrating when you have a hangry baby. The nipple shape also wasn’t ideal for my breastfeeding baby. Our lactation consultant explained that the slope wasn’t gradual enough so it didn’t mimic the breast where the baby has to open wide. With the inconsistent leaking as the biggest issue I would not recommend this bottle as there are better glass bottles on the market. I received this bottle set from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did receive this product as part of the Stellar product testing panel and was very excited to try it out! Love this glass option if you’re wanting to avoid plastics. I’ve used their plastic bottles in the past so loved that the their offering another option. I found the quality to be great and very easy to clean. My mostly breastfed 6 month old baby had no issues drinking from the nipple, the size and flow of the milk seemed intuitive which is what I want when not nursing. Gave 4 stars because it’s a little on the heavy side, naturally, being glass as opposed to its plastic counterpart. But overall very happy with it and will switch my plastic ones to the glass. I will be getting a silicone sleeve for the glass bottle to hopefully help avoid it breaking if/when dropped.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was skeptical about using a glass bottle with my child, let alone one that had a different nipple set than any bottle of ever used and that worked for my precious children. I was given the opportunity to test out the Phillips Advent 8oz Glass bottle, thanks to Stellar Product Testing Panel. When it arrived, I had no high hopes. My infant saw the bottle and immediately liked the feeling of the glass. She kept playing with it, but still hadn't tried actually drinking out of the bottle itself. After filling it up with some breast milk, I gave her the bottle and she began to drink. I struggled so much to bottle feed her; so much so, that I had to take a leave from work because she refused to bottle feed with anyone and hated every bottle we gave her. Now I've been able to leave her with my mom or sister and she takes the bottle, is less fussy, and has an easier time being away from me while I go to work. I went out and purchased a whole set. While the glass has scared me here and there, she seems to be doing just fine. It is easy to clean/wash, and it works well with my cups rinser. If you're on the same boat that I was in, look no further and just give this bottle a try.

I mainly breastfeed my 4 month old baby, we have tried multiple bottles and he doesn’t love them but when we tried the Philips Avent I was presently surprised how much he loved it. This bottle is so nice to hold, the glass is such a nice feature, and it has minimal leaking compared to other brands. It also is very easy to wash. This product has a very high quality look to it and I think it’s an excellent choice for a bottle feeding baby. I wish I would have found this bottle sooner because it’s a wonderful product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Philips Avent Glass bottle is a go to for any age of baby. It is easy to grip the slender bottle by either mom or baby (who now insists on holding the bottle during feedings). While glass bottles can be heavier than silicon or plastic, the Philips Avent was a great choice for keeping bottles chilled or made for a quick warming. We choose glass for anything warming, to minimize any micro plastics so choosing this bottle was an easy decision for us. We appreciated how the nipple was a little more braid in shape, enabling it easier to clean than other bottle nipples that are narrow and require fine brushes. We tested this bottle as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given the Philips Avent Glass Natural Baby Bottle to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and I'm so thankful for the perfect timing of it. I have a 7 month old who refused the bottle since birth, and I tried multiple times with various different bottles and nipples to get her to take it, but she refused her whole 7 month life. When I first received this bottle, I was surprised with the quality of it. As a glass bottle, I thought it would be heavy, a pain to wash (having to be extra careful to prevent shattering), and difficult to heat. However, I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually not as heavy as I thought, it was easier to wash than my plastic bottles, and it never got too hot for me or my baby! Obviously when you boil water for sterilization it does get pretty hot and I would advise to handle with care, but for every day milk heating, there was no issues with overheating- even my toddler was able to hold onto it to feed the baby! I especially liked that the glass is thick but not heavy, making it easy to wash and toss in the dishwasher. The marks on the bottle also make it convenient to see exactly how many ounces are in the bottle. So, the big question: did my baby take the bottle? Yes and no. I concluded she just likes to be breastfed. But she did take a few ounces from this bottle! The longest she drank out of a bottle, thanks to the Philips Glass Bottle! I would definitely recommend this to my friends who are looking to avoid plastic bottles. I haven't tried other glass baby bottles, but I don't particularly feel the need to try others with how satisfied I am with my experience with the Philips.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for letting me try this bottle! I was excited to test the Philips Avent Glass Natural Baby Bottle. At first, I was very happy with it—it felt sturdy and I loved the idea of using glass instead of plastic. However, when I put 7 oz of breastmilk in the first bottle, I noticed a crack at the bottom while feeding my baby girl. I washed it gently and let it air dry, so I was surprised it cracked. I got a replacement bottle, but unfortunately, it developed a crack in the side after just a short time of use. I really love the concept of glass bottles for feeding, but based on my experience, I think they need to be more durable to handle regular use safely.

I loved the look and feel of this bottle it seem high-quality and well-made. The glass is thick but with that it makes it heavy. The bottom did fine being warmed up in the bottle warmer and going through the sterilizer. Personally the bottle is great but scares me because it is glass and heavy, my baby likes to throw her bottle when she is done eating I don't pwant to be hit by it or it shatter from hitting the floor. The nipple flow worked really well with my daughter also. I think my favorite part about the bottle is the look it's very clean looking.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this bottle as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and I’m so glad I did because it’s become a fast favorite in our home. Right out the box, the look and feel of the Philips Avent Glass Natural Bottle felt premium. It’s sturdy without being too heavy, and the design is sleek, simple, and well-made definitely high-quality compared to many others I’ve tried. Heat resistance? No issues at all. I’ve warmed it, sterilized it, and run it through the dishwasher — and it’s held up beautifully every time. No discoloration, no odor, and I feel confident using it daily knowing it’s safe and durable. My almost 8-month-old had no trouble with the nipple flow — in fact, the faster flow was perfect for his age and drinking pace. He was able to feed comfortably without frustration or sputtering. If you have a younger baby, you may want to go with a slower-flow nipple, but for us, this one was just right. What I loved most: It’s glass (which I prefer), super easy to clean, and works seamlessly during feedings. I’m not a fan of plastic bottles, so I’ll definitely be purchasing more of these to build out our stash. Final Thoughts: High-quality, baby-friendly, and mom-approved. If you’re looking to make the switch to glass, this is a fantastic place to start. Thanks again to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for the opportunity to try it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle set. This is the first time ever trying a glass bottle for my baby and I am extremely shocked at how well she took this bottle. There was so hesitation at all. I loved the look and feel of this bottle. Definitely feels like high quality and well made, seems like it will last a lifetime. This bottle held up pretty well in heating, sterilizing, and washing multiple times a day. It does feel safe and reliable for everyday use. My baby able to control the pace of milk flow during feeding which I loved. A different nipple flow rate wouldn’t better suit my baby's drinking style, this one was perfect. The thing that I like most about this bottle is that they are resistant, easy to clean and do not retain odors or flavors, giving me a lot of confidence to feed my baby. In addition, the design is ergonomic, perfect for the baby to hold them comfortably.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has become my favorite bottle hands down. I wanted to use glass bottles but was afraid of dropping and breaking glass. This bottle feels very durable. The glass is thick but still easy for my little one to hold on her own. It took a short tumble and didn’t break or crack. It puts my mind at ease being able to heat milk up in glass instead of plastic. I put it through the sterilizer, the bottle warmer, even into a cup of warm water and I felt so much better than I do when I use plastic. The glass doesn’t get really hot when it’s heated which is so nice. My little one didn’t have any issues using this bottle on her own. I would recommend maybe a small silicone grip on the sides just to make it less slippery it did slip a few times but for the most part the flow rate and her ability to grab and hold the bottle made feedings so much easier. Overall highly recommend this glass bottle especially for heating milk. It held up even on the go and gave my mommy brain peace of mind. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 8oz Avent Natural Glass bottle has been a great fit for our family. The shape of the bottle helps you keep a grip on the glass - important so you don't feel like it will slip out and break. It has a high-quality design and the weight of the glass doesn't feel like too much for a baby to hold on their own, eventually. Because we use a bottle warmer, we much prefer to warm up milk in this glass bottle and have gotten consistent temperatures. The nipple shape of the Avent Natural seems to be a good fit because it is breast-like, which is important to us since we are using a combination of nursing and pumped milk. My 7 month old baby was able to keep up with the flow of the size 3 nipple, however, it was a little faster than what she was used to. This led to her finishing the bottle before getting sleepy, which doesn't work as well for nap times at our house. We ended up using a size 2 instead. My favorite thing about this bottle is how easy it is to clean. The glass washes up so much easier than plastic - milk residue doesn't stick around! I also appreciate that there are only 4 parts (bottle, ring, nipple, lid), so multiple can fit in one bottle-washer cycle. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle set.

Very high quality, easy to use, held up perfectly under heat from the dishwasher and the microwave. My baby loved this one more than his other bottles, but note that it is really heavy for little arms. The nipple was easy to use and he had great control with the flow. He likes the slower flow as opposed to a faster one. I love the tapered design and how the nipple is shaped.

I was excited to get one of these in glass form because I primarily used the plastic version for my first baby. With the direction we’re headed, glass seems better health-wise. It’s high quality but it is definitely more heavy. This is what stood out most to me because I did always worry about warming up bottles with the plastic. But it’s heavier to tow back and forth to daycare and also worried to break it! Otherwise it was high quality thick glass so it felt very safe to use. I did have irrational thoughts about dropping it on the baby but #hormones I’m sure. I like that it’s a simple 3 part bottle which makes it easy to clean.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this Avent glass bottle to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and it is great! It looks really slick and actually beautiful for a bottle! It is on the heavier side for babies to hold, but I honestly feel like it is sturdy and well made. My daughter did drop it and it did not damage the bottle. It is so easy to clean! It was a breeze both by hand and in the dishwasher. There is no discoloration or soapy smell like plastic bottles get. Sanitation was also very simple using the microwave sterilizer and dishwasher settings. The breastmilk did take longer to heat up with the bottle warmer. The nipple that it came with works great for us! My daughter has used this type of nipple since given bottles, and has never had an issue transitioning from bottle to beast, vise versa. The only thing with this specific nipple was that she prefers a higher flow (shes 11 months old). I really love how easy they are to keep clean! That is very important when your a mom with little one(s)! I'd definitely recommend this bottle!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle set. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of this bottle. My baby typically uses Como Tomo and Avent bottles but I was very interested in having him use a glass bottle. The bottle was not too heavy, which I was worried about. He was able to hold it comfortably while drinking his milk and the product seems to be of very good quality. We do not heat his milk, but ran it through our dishwasher and all parts seemed to hold up the heat very well. We did end up having to use a size 5 nipple for this bottle, as the size 3 that it came with was too slow. Our favorite quality about this bottle is the clean materials and how easy it was to use!
