  • A: We understand that you’d like to know how to safely disassemble your box fan for cleaning. Please be assured that the fan can be disassembled for cleaning using a Phillips-head screwdriver. Make sure the fan is unplugged, then place it on a flat, stable surface with the front grille facing you. Remove the screws around the outer edge of the front grille to access the fan blade. Clean the blade with a soft, damp cloth. A mild detergent may be used if needed. Do not allow water to come into contact with the motor, as this may damage the unit. Use a vacuum hose attachment to clean the back of the motor. Compressed air may also be used to clean the motor vents. Once cleaning is complete, reassemble the fan before operating it. We appreciate your care in maintaining your Lasko fan and hope these steps help make cleaning easier.

    This fan isn't it

    Very noisy fan. Everything about this fan is plastic. It does not stand up unless you prop it on something. Whether on hardwood floor or carpeted floor it slides all over the place. So it absolutely needs to be propped against a wall or a doorframe to make it stand still. The bigger issue with this fan is the smell coming out of the motor. You can run this thing 24/7 but whatever that smell is from the motor never goes away. Your house will constantly smell like burning oil. So as long as you don't mind living in a home that stinks, with a fan that constantly falls over, this fan is worth it. Otherwise, I would choose a different brand.

    Weird noises

    Great fan! If you absolutely hate your sleep and love taking things apart at 1 am because it’s making all kinds of noises (done four times now in the span of a month) started when it was brand new.

    Stopped Working on Day 2

    Fan stopped working after the second day. The first day the fan had a weird smell of burning plastic after turning on, which went away. In the second day the smell began again and then the fan turned off and stopped working.
