New formula stinks! 5/2026
They changed the formula and now the litter box has a disgusting soiled clay stench only a day after refreshing the box. The new formula has a noticeably different color (darker grey) and I will not be buying again. Now I’m stuck with two 35 lb bags of litter I won’t use.

Formula has changed with both the scented (actually scentless) and the unscented clumping scoopable cat litter. This stays pasty when clumping. It used to clump hard and not break while scooping. Also, both formulas have an odd smell, so even when clean, the litter box does not smell good. Last year I had problems with bag seams breaking, causing product to pour out everywhere. It seems to be somewhat better in that regard. I have decided to go back to a brand name that absorbs, clumps well, and controls odor. This cat litter is no deal if it doesn’t work anymore.

It used to be good...
I've used this for years and found it to be a pretty good replacement for Tidy Cats, but for the past few months I've been seeing dusty paw prints all over and the cats always seem to have litter between their toes. I also buy the scented and it doesn't seem to have a scent any more. I am probably going to go back to Tidy Cats until they change this litter back to what it used to be.

Formula change????
I would rate zero stars!!! This had been my go to litter for 3 cats for over 2 years and the last 3 bags have been horrible!! There is no scent and it doesn't clump like it used to and im finding dusty pawprints as well. Wish if target was going to make a change and ruin something by changing the formula instead of quietly selling this garbage

So much dust
I love the price of this litter. It clumps so well and masks the smell of the litterbox so great. But it doesn't claim low dust for a good reason. Over the years this litter has left a fine dusting over everything in the room where my litterboxes are. My cats frequently smell like litter dust from when they are covering their messes and it's off putting. It tracks out of the litterbox terribly, too. Personally, I can't live with the dust anymore, and I'm going to be swapping to something with lower dust. I really dislike smelling it on my cats!
