Dimensions not as advertized

I love the rug, but why is there such a difference in actual vs advertised size. I shopped and bought an 8x10' ft rug at a local store. However, the receipt and packaging states 7'10" x 10'6" but the actual size is 7'8" x 10' 7.5" so the fit in my room is not satisfactory.
