Description
HealthyBaby - The Who, The How, and the Why
At HealthyBaby, we put health first, from prenatals to pre-k, and we see a need for new standards now.
Who? We are big-hearted parents, activists, and developmental experts on a mission to impact our babies’ development. Don't hesitate to reach out to our amazing customer service team at support@healthybaby.com if you have any questions or experience a leak (which may be due to sizing!)
How? Remove worries and encourage connection. During the time your baby is in diapers, their bodies are developing so rapidly and their brains are making 1 million+ connections per second! We’re here to help you demystify development at your own pace, in a way that’s unique to you and your baby. We see development as a dynamic flow, not a race to be won, because between the milestones are countless moments to create more connectedness and resilience.
Why? Our world has changed so dramatically, and having a baby today is more challenging than it’s ever been. We all care about developing brains, and we know that everything in our baby's environment matters. Of course, you deserve to know what diapers are made of. Your baby will be in a diaper 24/7 for 3+ years — that means every single day. And of course, your baby deserves to be overprotected during this time. We should not have to worry about that. Our diapers are paired with inspiration and support to make this magical time more supported, because now is the time to thrive and connect, not worry.
What is the EWG VERIFIED™ mark?
As pioneer of the EWG VERIFIED™ diaper, our diapers are independently verified by a third-party team of scientists, chemists, and toxicologists to meet their rigorous standard for health, human safety, and transparency based on the latest research.
The EWG VERIFIED™ mark from the Environmental Working Group recognizes products that meet the strictest standards for human health. This means transparency. This means trust.
Over 92,000 personal care products have been screened against the EWG VERIFIED™ standard. Of those, only around 2,200 products have achieved the EWG VERIFIED™ mark, and there is only one diaper, HealthyBaby’s. And it wasn’t easy to do. They created a bar that we encourage the rest of the diaper industry to meet.
For over 30 years, the Environmental Working Group has been called the de facto regulator when it comes to chemicals found in everyday products, while we wait for Washington to set standards that will meaningfully protect the public from chemicals. Environmental health is public health.

Q: My 1 week old baby has peed through every single one and I haven’t been able to keep them on for longer than 30 min before she and whoever is holding her is covered in pee. Why don’t these diapers absorb any pee? She’s almost 6lbs and is wearing NB size.
submitted by faye - 2 years ago
A: These absorb great when properly "installed".
submitted byFTMWood - 10 months ago
A: Totally opposite for me as well. I feel of all the diapers my daughter has used- healthy baby has been the cleanest and most absorbent. Whenever she catches a diaper rash from other brands (received from my baby shower), I always turn to healthy baby and the rash is gone almost instantly
submitted byMR - 1 year ago
A: I have the complete opposite experience. She never had a leak with healthybaby. If it leaks you perhaps need to size up.
submitted byNargess - 1 year ago
A: We found the NB size was too big for a 6lb baby and results in leaks. At the 7lb mark, they begin to fit much better and hold well!
submitted byMom - 1 year ago
A: It is literally the opposite for me!! My daughter has never leaked out out these. They hold an incredible amount of urine... my
submitted byCocobutt3r - 2 years ago
A: They hold well. You need to change more often. They are cotton diapers and are a cleaner /healthier diaper..I have the same issue after a few 3/4hrs of wear on days when my toddler drinks lot of water(loves water), which is most days if not daily. Since she pees often then I can have her in them for roughly 3/4 hrs but I try to change her as often as I notice them wet ti keep her from getting a rash. One that is less frequent since changing to this brand. I absolutely love it, especially because it has made me realize my child should not be sitting in urine too long as I wouldn't during my menses.
submitted byJanie - 1 year ago
A: Almost forgot to mention that I haven't had a leak but felt very close to one since I failed to change her diaper for more than 5 hrs. BUT, even with that she never leaks during the night, mind you her diaper gets pretty soggy at times.
submitted byJanie - 1 year ago
A: We are so sorry to hear you are experiencing leaks. Historically, we find that leaking is due to a sizing issue. We would love to help troubleshoot and assist you with finding a better fit. Please reach out to support@healthybaby.com!

A: Newborn was likely too big. My almost 6lb newborn was in preemie diapers for about 3 weeks before he fit into newborn. Until we got preemie diapers, he leaked through everything. That’s probably the issue vs them being too small.

Q: Do these diapers have a blowout pocket in the back? Thanks!
submitted by Teatreat27 - 2 years ago
A: The size 1 and 2 diapers I have DO have a blowout pocket. Maybe it's a new feature or just for smaller sizes.
submitted byaszi2127 - 1 year ago
A: We have an updated design that apparently has a blowout pocket now?
submitted byMom - 1 year ago
A: They did update their design this summer to include a blow out pocket
submitted byK - 11 months ago
A: They do not have blowout pockets.

Q: How do these compare to coterie diapers? These seem slightly more expensive and I’m curious if they are as soft as coterie
submitted by Hailey - 2 years ago
A: I have not tried coterie, however these diapers are super soft. I have tried Pura, Andy Pandy, & Bamboo Nature, and these are the softest ones by far out of those.
submitted byVic - 2 years ago
A: They are thinner and the absorption rate is faster than coterie in my opinion.
submitted byMishell - 2 years ago
A: Thinner than coterie but DEFINITELY 100% hold much more than coterie. Coterie is labeled as luxury but not luxury at all. Healthy baby is much better. Softer, more absorbent,
Etc

Q: Baby pees and poops right through these... she's in NB size too that matches with the weight recommended on your site.
submitted by Bailee - 2 years ago
A: I think maybe you’d have to go up a size, as these are super absorbent. My daughter is 8 months and I could go without changing her for hours and she won’t leak.
submitted byMR - 1 year ago
A: Oh no! We are sorry to hear that. Based on the information you provided, you might need a different size. Please reach out to support@healthybaby.com so we can assist you with finding a better fit.

Q: Does the inner lining contain any synthetics (polyester) or is what touches baby 100% cotton?
submitted by Olivia - 2 years ago
A: Sadly no it is not cotton but “plant based materials” in the inner lining.

A: Great Question! We are proud to be the first and only EWG Verified Diaper, which means we are also the only diaper brand to disclose every material used in our diapers. I have included the link to our ingredient list for you below:

Q: Weight ranges on these are different than the ones on the Healthybaby.com website size 2: website 10-16; target photo 12-18; target spec 10-18. Size 3: website 12-22; target photo 12-22; target spec 13-24...what gives?
submitted by KGriff - 2 years ago
A: I'd go by the lighter weight range since the Size 2 already fit our 9.5 pounder.
submitted bymechkitten - 2 years ago
A: I think healthy baby changed their diaper weight ranges…Because when I went to buy size 3 in store, it matched the healthy baby website range, not the photo from target’s app. Ended up having to get size 4.
submitted byJustJasc - 2 years ago
Q: Just opened a new box of size 3 and found that they have wetness indicators.
What’s that about? I’ve been looking everywhere and can’t find anything saying that they added them with nontoxic ink. The box still says that they don’t have them.
submitted by Hannah - 3 months ago
A: Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to our attention. You’re correct: HealthyBaby diapers are intentionally designed and manufactured without a wetness indicator.
Due to a rare manufacturing error, a very limited quantity of diapers was produced with a wetness indicator and shipped before the issue was identified. This does not reflect a change to HealthyBaby's product design, ingredients, or standards. HealthyBaby remains committed to minimizing unnecessary materials and chemicals in our products and to providing parents with the safest diapers possible. We’ve thoroughly investigated this issue with our manufacturing partner and have implemented corrective actions to ensure this mistake won’t happen again.
We’re happy to replace your diapers and make this right. Please reach out to support@healthybaby.com.

Q: If baby wears a size 4 from Kudos, what size would you recommend?
submitted by Chrissy - 6 months ago
A: Great Question! We'd recommend starting with our size 5 diapers. Our team at support@healthybaby.com is always happy to help you find the best fit.
These diapers are highly praised for their exceptional softness, absorbency, and comfort, making them a great choice for babies with sensitive skin. Many guests appreciate the eco-friendly materials and the fact that they are EWG verified, providing peace of mind for parents. However, some guests have reported issues with sizing and leakage, particularly during overnight use. Overall, they are seen as a reliable option for daily use, especially for active toddlers.
